Has anyone had any luck or even tried to convert a surface cleaner for reclaim? I'm thinking of buying a cheapi, punching a hole for vac and trying it out. Any suggestions?

I,m not a wood guy so I'll refer to those who are, My Mawinlaw wants here deck / fence stained, Iv'e researched old forums and maybe I'm just too big an idiot to find what I need to know.
Deck is 3 yrs old, never stained, pine, and it's pretty gray.
Fence is 1 year old and not as gray, also...
O.K. most everybody here knows I started with a smaller unit, 3000 psi @ 3.5 gpm. Today I got a new Delco 5.5 gpm @ 3500. Do I keep the smaller machine? sell it? use it as a back up or 2nd. Is anybody here even using a 3.5 gpm machine?
