Alright let's say somebody...:rolleyes: had all of their equipment in a box truck.
O.K. you guessed it you'r a genious it's me. anyway still operating everyday but temps are hitting below freezing at night.

Is anybody using any kind of heater to protect equipment? gas fumes kinda bother me a little, but with my stack allowing the temps to drop right down into my machine.. well, that bothers me too. any suggestions?
 
hey chris if you go to www.mcmastercarr.com page 608 they have blast gates that can prevent unwanted air to flow back down to your machine.. they offer stainess steel for higher temps and corrosion resistance.... this would be something that would not interrupt the air flow when the burner is in use.....
 
i also cover my equipment with dense blankets to help with the harsh temps
 
Hello Chris,

We use Lp heaters in the back of our trucks. The trucks are stored inside but we do not heat the building unless we are working there.

We also use electric heaters, but having the Lp we don't need to worry when we have a power failure! We also use the Lp heaters when we are running down the road. We do not winterize our systems.

We have the same set up for our store room in our shop where we store our chemicals.

not trying to be a smartass but put something on top of the stack hole so the air dont come in

GEEEZ don't remind me, We had to move back home a couple years ago after being at the Alabama Gulf Coast for ten years. It ain't So. Fla. but we could wear shorts year round. To my kids that is home it's where they grew up, and every week I'm asked when are we goin back. Couple more freezin nights and it might be soon.
 
hey dave olson ... do you collect the rain water to fill your tanks ..or is that an exhaust for something else i cant tell by the pic .. i was going to create a setup to collect rain water ...
 
Hello Chris,

No we do not collect rain water.

We have a 6" manhole on top of the truck. We can fill at bulk filling stations and they deliver water at about 400 gallons per minute. The tanks are connected with 2" lines on the bottom and the horizontal hose in the picture transfers the overflow to the other tank.

These are 2-500 gallon tanks that we've piped together to make one tank. Kinda like having a 1000 gallon tank with baffles.
