John, I think Matts right.I like a spirited debate as much as anyone else, but the Rusty/Mikey conspiracy theory is wrong, and you could see that if you have been following this bbs over the years.Pressure washing caught my attention years ago,and really caught my attention one night when I stopped by a Walmart one night about 7 years ago in the Poconos and seen a guy doing flatwork there cleaning the sidewalks, with a real nice rig and he seemed like he enjoyed himself.Italked to him and he invited me to his house to talk about starting a hood cleaning business,he was looking for someone to run the hood end as a lead guy. This guy was making the kind of money Mikey is talking about, working by himself, doing alot of Burger kings, and Walmarts.Although we didn't do anything together,I came away with an impression of someone who loved his work and was making a nice living, and he had about a $400,000 to $500,00 house (my estimate). At the time I owned a restaurant in NJ that was grossing about $8000 a week with a nice profit and I hated it,the restaurant business sucks,I know I owned 2 of them, both made money, and I made great money selling them, but it was 7 days a week 15 hours a day,and on a busy friday or Saturday night I could take in $3000,but it sucked.I also sold cars at a high pressure dealership where they sold cars for more than $3000 over sticker sometimes.I worked from 9AM to 9pm six days a week, and made $1400 my first week,I was 19 and out of college for the summer.I was psyched,I loved it at first, but then it became a grind, and some weeks you made s#%#,car dealerships churn through so many sales people it is hard to go to a dealer and see the same faces you seen a year before. The ups and downs in the car sales business is hard to build a life around. The bottom line is Mikey found something that he loves to do,and obviously most on this board do or they would not be doing it or posting about it on bbs's in their spare time. It's not always about the money, being happy and enthused about what you do is priceless, and that's what I see when Mikey posts. As far as income,I would love to make half of what Mikey makes and live in a beautiful place like Wyoming,I just don't think I could convince the little woman to move there, she's bugging me to move to a warmer climate, but I won't live anywhere where I am more than a half hour from a trout stream!
