Pushing $200K "ONE MAN CREW"

Just to carify I did not mean to demean Wyoming. It is a beautiful state and the home state of Dick Cheaney. My point was there is a lot of open space there.Jobs can be hours apart. To do 769 per day on 1 man jobs, wich are typically small say a good price of 300.00 each that would be 2 and a half jobs a day 5 days a week.
In a perfect situation it is possible.I don't believe it is being done. Not in Wyoming.I don't believe you can give a customer 2 prices and all will say I love you so much I'll pay the higher!I don't believe you could average 300.00 per job with 1 man.
Positive attitudes are great,so are bed time stories.Niether will change the truth.
On these boards people can have multiple identities for what ever reason.I could now log off as myself come back in rejoin with another name and say I am from another state where there are no members to varify I even exist and post a reply praising myself as if it were someone else agreeing with me.My guess is Mickey does not exist.Did you ever see him and Rusty at the same time?

Hi John, I’m real and everything I say is real. You started off on a roll then lost me, Stop being so paranoid. The last post exemplifies what I’m talking about . I Hope you have more faith in this board than that. Also I would be happy to have you come out spend a little time with me if you truly believe that you can even increase your sales and productivity. Free of course, but you pay your own expenses here and back . e-mail worldwash@msn.com

I have been reading this board on and off for at least two years and I think I might have posted once or twice way back. Rusty and his site got me interested in this business but I have never made the plunge to go into business for myself. I actually loaded up and drove out to Wyoming to meet Mikey to learn about the business. He was still working at the auto dealer then. He was one of the nicest guys I have ever met. He invited me into his house and took me out on a couple of jobs to show me what hood cleaning was about. All at no charge. He is just a regular guy that has a strong drive to succeed. I have not talked to him since I have been out there ( it was over two years ago) but I felt I had to post this when someone questioned if he was "real" or not. This board has a lot of knowledge on it and I still read it even though I don't actually clean hoods. I would still like to start my own business someday and when I do I hope I will have the similar success that Mikey has had.

Mikey, maybe you should provide some certified IRS documentation, signed in blood, swear on someones grave, and then beg.... please, please, please beleive me guys, I am a real boy.

You are being called a liar. I don't know why its so hard to believe someone can be successful. My first year was $93,000. Year # 2 $148,000. I had no prior sales experience before starting my business, and had this success. Why is it so hard to believe that an experienced saleperson can sell 200K worth of business in a year. I would have no problem doing this in my third year.

Dodonish,
I did not say you couldn't sell 200,00.00 a year. I don't beleive you can sell and CLEAN 200,000.00 a year with one man.Especially in Wyoming!

As far as Razorback's comment's about meeting Mickey I doubt that happened as well.Isn't it curious this was his first post here ever?If I am wrong so what,I am being truthful.I am sure Mickey is a nice guy,I never said he wasn't.I just think he has an agenda here. Why else would you even start such a thread?

Mickey can't be that busy,he's on line to much.
Best from NJ, John

Yes, not that Busy, went to work last night at 8PM and got home at 1AM made $1,075. Not bad for a short couple jobs. Yes I agree, I have way to much time to spend at home.

I don't beleive that either!1,075.00 in 5 hrs with one man no way!

What do you make a year John? 50K? If you cant beleive any of the stories about how much people make, you might not be charging enough!?

Careful Guys!

I think we may be missing something here. Who is this John Zema? He is doing far too much in depth badgering and doubting. Could he be John Zema "our friend at the IRS" trying to draw out some dirt? Don't forget. "loose lips sink ships."

Mikey you don't have anything to prove to us, keep up the great work. If things continue like they have been for you in Wyoming we may all end up working for and with you.

Razor why so testy?Get caught? What I make is irrelevant. What I am saying is from my 10 years in business, having worked solo for four years and 6 with help I can tell you that 200,000.00 per year is not being done with one man ANYWHERE! Especially in Wyoming.

If you really met Mickey and really beleive his numbers then why haven't you started a one man company in your home state?Because you aren't real that's why!

This is very unproductive, lets give it a rest and move on.

I'm not ready to move on,but thanks for the suggestion Grant. You no longer have to read if you think this is unproductive.

Why would you work alone if you are pushing 200k?Why not hire a guy at that point for say 30k?That's probably great money in WY.That's a drop in the bucket when you consider you have to do half as much work.I know The answer it's all a big lie!

Grant,

Can you not simply banish this entire thread from existence? Like send it off into cyber-space? It is not that John doesn't have a point, it is rather that I abhor this constant Wyoming-bashing! In my opinion we should slice off the entire East Coast and set it adrift - it would then be much more representative of Real America.

(ok, just kidding - but somehow just gotta fan the flames of debate).

Richard

Zema.

Seeing how experienced you are (14 to 20 years) who much should a single operator be allowed to generate in business based on your government information. It seems that NJ is a bad place to clean hoods. Consider moving. Why not contact Mike directly and discuss your concerns on the phone. Do a search.

Dont forget one thing... It's not how much you make, It's what you keep!!

Does it really matter how much a person makes?

What matters is what type of person he or she is.

What do you do when no one is looking?

Mark,

No one ever looks while I am cleaning hood, and I am still a greaser-type person.

Richard

Indiana,
My earnings are irrelevant. If you want to beleive these bed time stories go ahead.I beleive they are trying to sell expensive space in a certain hood cleaning school.
My question above have gone unanswered.
Best,John
