P90X

I caved in and got some egg whites in a carton. I can't believe it but they're not bad This morning had the equivalent of 4 eggs (1 egg + 3 whites), a cup of spinach, 1/4 cup of onions, 1 1/2 turkey sausage links and half a can of fat free cream of mushroom soup as an omelet for breakfast. It was filling!

Ready to hit the road and work with a salad & boiled eggs, a HUGE chicken salad tub (more than a cup) and a couple of snack bars.

We've only got about 4 hrs work today. Coil cleaning season is winding down and we hope to go back to filters only and emergency coil cleanings by the 1st of June.

It's been physically hard. Last week was the first time I missed a workout since I started. It was just the Kempo X and I think I got more than that climbing in and out of the lifts and carrying stuff across the roofs all day.

Maybe some of you gurus can tell me what is up here. I haven't lost a lb in about 3 weeks. I think I only lost one or two pounds since I started this exercise thing. Every crumb of food I take in is input in the computer. Every minute of exercise based on my heart rate is entered into the computer and the picture below shows what's been going in and what I'm burning. I think my percentages or carbs/protein/fats is even acceptable.

What is going on here? I'm working my tail off. I am taking in 130 more calories per day than I was when I wasn't exercising, but I can't see that making me stop losing weight.

Any ideas?

Thanks guys.

Hal, here they just about outlawed the ephedra because of all the meth labs, can you order it or where would you get it? Sounds like it will speed up your metabolism a lot.

Hello Frustrated In Vegas
You are doing a good job tracking and counting everything thats great when i saw that pie chart i know just what the problem is.Your carb intake is to high. Also i would like for you just to weigh once every sunday morning. When we first start to exercise it takes a while to get the metabolism reved up.If you are eating 5 or 6 times a day you are one the right track. Also you need to drink at minumim 1-1.5 gallons of water a day.Do this next week eat your carb meals up until lunch and start really curbing back after that.Certain bodies are really carb sensitive.I am one for real i have to cut way way back just to cut the weight. The guys who helps me said i was really carb sensitive. However you can over come this in an easy way.If you will list your meals out like you have been eating and if you want me to i can help you.Keep in the struggle you can do it.Good Luck.

+1.

Also Tony, dont forget that at a certain point your fat loss will slow way down and you muscles will build, which will stop the weight loss, but youll continue burning fat. Even without excercise, and with enough protien lean muscle forms.

Thanks guys. The first week I went more protein than over the past week and a half I've started going with more carbs because it seemed like my body was screaming for them just to make it through the day.

I'm not only doing the P90X but we've also got the end of coil cleaning season breathing down our necks with one huge job and another small one still left to finish before June 1. On top of that we added a LOT of new buildings this month and next month for air filter service. These filters we are installing weigh 5 lbs each and there's a lot of lugging going on.

I took the day off yesterday to catch up on paperwork, but Monday we had 5 days in a row of fast filter service and new installs. I stopped at one point during a 1 hr sprint filter service and my heartbeat was 135. That's my target rate (resting rate is about 40-45)

It was like that for 5 days straight with these new installs. Basically work like that for 30 minutes to 1 1/2 hrs, slow down for 20 minutes till the next building, then start all over again.

PLUS the P90x on top of that. I don't usually do all that work but we're trying to get a baseline to see how much three on a truck can accomplish in a month without hiring help again. (we usually hire temps).

I don't know. It just seems like I should drop a lot all the sudden any time now.

You need to shock your system with a 'cake and ice cream' day. I thought Judy had lost her mind last weekend when she ate junk food on Saturday but Monday she had lost more weight and said it got her over a plateau. She's really shaming me.

Sounds like a trip to Cold Stone is in order. Gotta drown your sorrows somehow.

Its more than a trip to coldstone. Its a large stack of pancakes and some french toast with extra thick syrup and powdered sugar. Pizza buffet and ice cream for lunch, and a large pasta dinner followed by more dessert. Throw in a batch of cookies that you snack on throughout the day and you're good to go! You really have to gorge on cheat day.

Tony, if you're. Getting hungry eat a large portion of beans with your meals. It'll get you calories that won't affect your weight loss and it'll curb the cravings.

Tony dont eat the beans to many carbs the hunger is coming from the metabolism is speeding up and the body trying to compensate for the loss.Just stick to the diet and you will win hunger is part of the game. When you get the metabolisim reved up your body will be able to tell you its been three hours feed me lol.Water is the best thing for the hunger pains also.

Sorry Hal, but hunger is NOT part of the game. There's no reason to be hungry and black beans or lentils will stop it from happening without slowing the weight loss.

But hey what do I know.

I haven't really had beans in over 6 years. The diabetic diet I was on cut them out. That Dr even said peanuts are more beans than nuts and I didn't eat them for years either.

Well, at least I'm making some progress. I couldn't wait till Sunday. I'm happy to be under 20% fat for the first time in probably 20 years.

Good job Tony heck if your health is fine and blood work good to go i wouldnt worry about the scales as much but you have made great progress and thats something to be proud of.People that say they diet and dont get hungry arent dieting right lol.

Hal, I couldn't keep up. I'm three days behind this week. Seems like my body just needs some time to recuperate. I missed Tuesday (Kempo), Thursday, (Yoga) and Friday (Legs + abs). I'll try to catch up on the legs and abs today but that's about all I can do. The physical work I had to do this week was really tough. We were going on a skeleton crew and trying to go as fast as we could.

I'm still the same weight. I had one day of about 2300 calories. Otherwise I've stayed on pretty good and am trying to keep the protein up.

It's tough trying to find over an hour to work out when you get up, go to work, then come home, do the billing and go to sleep.

Chris Chappell, I've got a recipe for you.

If you like Outback Steakhouse's Bloomin' Onions (2,275 Calories!!!) you might like this:

One bag of Frozen Zucchini Squash
1/3 bag of frozen mixed peppers
1/2 onion

Sauce:
2 TBS Fat Free Cream cheese
2 TBS Fat Free Sour Cream
2 TSP Dijon Mustard (with horseradish)
2 dashes of Cayenne pepper

Turn the oven on Broil
Spray some olive oil on a big baking pan
Spread the zucchini, peppers and onions on the pan and spray them a little on the top.
Let them cook till they get a little BLACK on the top.
(There's no time here, you've got to keep an eye on it)

Mix the sauce ingredients in a dipping bowl.

When the veggies have cooled pick them up with a fork and dip them in the good stuff.

Very, Very good snack that tricks your mind into thinking about the bloomin onion but the whole thing is only around 200 calories!

1/10th the calories! It's easy to eat right when you learn the tricks!

Thanks Tony but I don't like Onions as I am allergic to them.

I feel the same way as you do, we finished the apartment complex yesterday and I was just wore out so I took the day off today to spend with my son.

We saw Kung Fu Panda 2 and it was cool! My son loved the movie and it really was funny!

Back to washing trucks tomorrow and Monday.

Almost half way through. I made one major mistake. I thought it would be ok to substitute hoofing filters across the roofs in 100+ degrees for the kenpo and yoga. Now I'm all bound up tight as a drum and sore as heck!

I didn't realize how important the stretching exercises are.

Haven't lost a pound of weight. I raised my intake up 300-500 calories to keep from running out of gas. Even though the weight loss has stopped it,seems like I'm still losing size. fitting pretty comfortably in 34 jeans.

Just trudging along!
