Help with post card

PEOPLE STOP PUTTING PRICES ON YOUR SH*T!!!! All a price does is say "hey this card has no call to action i can't sell so here is my price take it or leave it."
Really , price is no call to action. Really? Are you crazy?
Malone's steak dinner on sale 10.99 ...... Sorry I don't need were the best, were insured, licenced , ect to buy. I take that as a given( its Malone's). steak 10.99 i am in, lets eat!!!! Same as people do after they see my website and rig . I don't wanna meet my customers to sell a job its not in my business plan. (Residential plan)
. Sorry does apple have a price list? yes..It is the first thing they tell the public at the launch of a item along with the features of it. Just like my way .....it will cost you this to get this.

Stop selling a price and pressure washing and start selling benefits that's how i have grown my company the way I have. It's not something i made up its basic business principals ...
So what you can sell not everyone wants your business model. Alot of people can't and don't want to sell! Are you that arrogant now that you really think you have all the answers to how to run a business? You still don't know where spell check is.........I for one would never take lessons from you for that simple reason. But you continue to shoot off on how to run a business to all the guys on the bbs. You know I miss spell stuff and use the wrong punctuation all the time....But I don't ever try to sell my services or act bigger than what I am . Its kinda like you sending me all those pictures last year of different plant material. what is this???????? Lou This kinda stuff a beginner would know. Like , Boxwood, Holly, Blue spruce globe. While all the time you are advertising you are professional Landscaper......

Lets see you do Pressure washing, Landscaping, Mowing, Seo, Marketing, Design work, Website work, any thing else? Don't wanna miss something being you are a professional at all these .....

Sounds like someone is picking up work for $199.00
According to someone I will be out of business soon...lol

Dead on it Mike,
The other thing about advertising $199 for say up to 2k sq ft is say you have a person that calls and has a 2300 sq ft home .... how much is that? In the customer's mind it should be $230 ... so you are stuck with you price before the phone even rings. The other thing is what are you selling? NOTHING your answering the phone and taking an order. If that works for you great but don't come flood mine and Mike's market with the crap. I guess I know what my market will bear and it leaves a bad taste in my mouth when some one wants to get an estimate but wants to compare my price to a price a post card says that was sent from some one that has a full time job paid for by tax money that they use to subsidize their "business" Did you buy this market? Really I haven't heard if you did let me know.....

It's the same bad taste i have for unemployment, business taxation, and companies that take the lowest bid. It's just me i guess. I just hate seeing my blood sweat and tears i put into my business loose out because of the above factors.
Get over it!!!! I do work as pt fireman again, so to be full time. There's nothing you can do about it. I have liability , workers comp, truck insurance, licence, and the ability to market.......and most importantly the ability to clean something.

You keep advertising that low price and its going to put you right out of business. Wouldn't that be a good thing since you don't like the way I run my business.
You know not once I have went after your commercial accounts, cracker barrel, steak n shake ect......even the casino you did and yes I heard about that one the day after your initial meeting. Plenty enough time to slide a bid in.....but didn't .

You have made remarks towards me for the last year. I have just sat back and blew them off, being the bigger person. Wasn't you that told me to leave the uamcc bbs and go back to all my pwi friends? funny.....why are you on here now? could it be that org is dead????? Can't sell anything BS to a dead ORG hun?

Anyway I know you have my number .......you used it 2 days ago. I did return the call too with a message.
If you wanna discuss your ownership of Louisville.....call me I will give you my address so we can have a personally conference on that matter!

Dj you made 2010 your so called Bi*ch.....
I will be making Louisville/Cincinnati 2011 mine! With a bull eyes on Oldham county just for you!.
See you at the Local associations meeting/ home shows/ luncheons/ golf outings..........

LMAO well thats funny because he didn't quit look at it that way. I unfortunetly had to drop my price some because some one gave him a 750 price tag to base my price off. I was at 1400 originally. No biggie though, 5 hour job tops got it booked for next week and the guy said he really liked me and my attitude and wanted to give me the business because i didn't walk off. . . I can't wait this should be fun. Your on your way to creating a great rep buddy.

I get it...you guys are competitiors but there is no reason why you can be friendly competitors. You are both good, strong-willed, sharp who are motivatedto succeed.

Don't let something petty take your focus away from what is important - which is your business. There is enough work out there for everyone, negativity towards each other will not make either of you better, it will only drag you down.

Run your business the way you want to run it and forget about what might work or might not work for someone else. Unless they are paying yoru bills, who cares how much they make.

DJ...you just said that price is not the issue with good selling skills yet you say he is too low. Do your thing, let Lou do his.

You guys make up...hug it out....whatever....better to have friends than enemies.

Mike you are so right....there's like 4 plus million people between Louisville and Cincinnati and the Lexington area.....From his phone call this week he's upset that I included his small town on my website. ( Like i would ever go to Carrorton Ky(Population 2000 gross family income $35000.00 lol ) to do a job. The whole area was mentioned as well as mapped out. Way to many people to worry about.... Funny thing is I just told Mk that I was thinking about giving out all my roof jobs when i saw him at the shop the other day. Figured Mk for lexington and Dj for Louiville....And some firefighter from Cincinnati. Roofs are like decks I don't wanna do them.......... I have so tried to be friends with him, anwsered all his questions when he had them on landscaping , friendly at round tables ect.....then in return i get smart remarks on the bbs. lol.....

Chris Please Post a Link to all your Cards, Chris Sells Cards for use in Residential that are Proven. You guys should look at these great Cards.

I really liked one he used in NOLA at the event. Great Card

Hey thanks Ron!

http://shopwindowcleaningresource.com/print.html

These are the exact cards we use in our window business, I only put them up once we have tested them out.. and confirmed they pull $100,000 in 10 weeks.

That's a total crock of SH*T!

Im really big on split and multi variate testing.. I test everything all the time.. I have never ever seen a card without prices out perform a card with prices..

The priced up card always wins.

Theory being (mine at least :) ) is that people think this stuff is way more expensive then it really is. So they get a card with our house wash special on it and they say "damm thats not to bad I can afford that"

I usually don't share my stuff that works really well in public, but I will make this exception: This ad brought me over $6000 of work. I sent out 49 of them. You do the math for the ROI.

Exactly....early on I had done a few cards with no price...a complete waste of money. People are always shocked at the price, not beause it is below market, but because they are expecting to pay more. When folks have a perception they can not afford something, they move on. If they see a price that they can afford for a service they need or want....they will pick up the phone.

Thanks Chris. I thought it sucked compared to every other card that I had Keith design for me. But those pretty cards brought crappy returns and I couldn't afford to just keep paying him money to keep redesigning my stuff. Don't get me wrong, I have no reservations about using Keith, I believe he is the best in this industry when it comes to design work, but I will never again let anybody else do the marketing part.

"I know exactly what I want, now make it look decent" is my motto.

Ugly sells too, so don't be afraid to go ugly. Look at me, and I'm a great salesman, hahahha. :sarcastic:

I like that Don. That chic is hot.

You would. lol.

Have you ever tested them with a HIGHER price? Do you think the results would be the same if your postcard/advert stated that house washes started at $347?

Also, while I am asking you a question.... Where do you try to keep your marketing budget? 10% of revenue is what I strive for.

Hey Michael

Yea we've experimented with the price quite a bit over the year, 149, 199, 249, 299, 399 etc.. The 199 has just been the sweet spot.

We do try to budget for exactly 10%, this year we did about 13%.. On year when we were first getting started We hit 24%.. that doesn't scale though..
