Help with post card

I'll be a little esoteric - When you get better that means you weren't doing it 'right' before! Every improvement has the other side of 'my way wasn't what it could be'. Somewhere your mind must accept that if you want to improve - you want to be wrong!

Cherry pick the best from all thats around, take it, make it better. Always look to be wrong (improve and learn).

Business, economics, politics - Anything that involves people is about human nature period. And that hasn't changed since Adam.

PEOPLE STOP PUTTING PRICES ON YOUR SH*T!!!! All a price does is say "hey this card has no call to action i can't sell so here is my price take it or leave it."

That's a total crock of SH*T!

Like ant said GET IN THEIR HEADS.... whats important to mommy - watching her little girl play soccer

What's important to daddy - Golfing with the guys on sunday instead of cleaning his house.

Stop selling a price and pressure washing and start selling benefits that's how i have grown my company the way I have. It's not something i made up its basic business principals ...
Dj were did you get the pic you used few years ago it is of family picinac you used for post card and how did that card work for you.

We are in a pretty small geographic area, smaller than Lexington. Yet we have the volume to support multiple rigs and we often use price in our advertising. It works. Advertising price is not a bad idea and if done effectively it can increase your sales and grow your business. Everyone has a different cost basis and not everyone has the same overhead....this is a huge factor.

I think Lou is a very sharp guy and I know for a fact that he is profitable. I also think DJ has done a great job growing his business. I think saying that someone is going to go out of business is silly and I think saying a price list is useless doesn't make sense either.

Features, Benefits, Value....then Price. You do not have to be the cheapest, you have to be the best. The ability to sell and close is the key.

Istockphoto.com buddy ... I just looked at my excel spread sheet and we used it this year and got 4 calls for house washing on a 1,500 address list. My house washes aren't $199 so it was a very profitable campaign...

Dead on it Mike,

And I don't mean dont use a price list i have one but i do not advertise it to clients and i don't stick to it 100% .... Say a 1800 sq ft vinyl siding home two story - my base on that is $387 but if I feel the customer really like ME, MY COMPANY AND MY PRODUCT (which are the three steps you have to sell) I may ask for $457 or maybe even more.

The other thing about advertising $199 for say up to 2k sq ft is say you have a person that calls and has a 2300 sq ft home .... how much is that? In the customer's mind it should be $230 ... so you are stuck with you price before the phone even rings. The other thing is what are you selling? NOTHING your answering the phone and taking an order. If that works for you great but don't come flood mine and Mike's market with the crap. I guess I know what my market will bear and it leaves a bad taste in my mouth when some one wants to get an estimate but wants to compare my price to a price a post card says that was sent from some one that has a full time job paid for by tax money that they use to subsidize their "business"

It's the same bad taste i have for unemployment, business taxation, and companies that take the lowest bid. It's just me i guess. I just hate seeing my blood sweat and tears i put into my business loose out because of the above factors.

I usually don't share my stuff that works really well in public, but I will make this exception: This ad brought me over $6000 of work. I sent out 49 of them. You do the math for the ROI.

Scott how about a giant frog LOL

Looking for Kitty pictures now that are holding an American flag

Chris try Vistaprints they have some decent templates, not pressure washing templates but house, & business family etc. Doesn't all have to be PWing stuff. I have done several I use them to catch the eye of our target market so they see our Name & Logo and when they are ready to wash, hopefully they remember our name
Its all part of the rest of our targeting

Just have to use your imagination some. They are pretty cheap too! http://www.vistaprint.com/gallery.aspx?pg=2&xnav=HowToDesign

Very nice quality. Just make sure you have things placed or centered perfect and make sure your text is correct. Double, triple check it. I did 2 different ones where there is one letter wrong on each Argggggg

Cards fronts are high gloss, thick stock
