Caustic Thickeners for Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning-surfactant

Thats funny....mine is just naturally thick.
There's different kinds of foam ...for different kinds of grease.

You know that Randall!! how you been brother?:shout:

What if any results is anybody getting from using a thickener chemical in with their caustic, like that Bonzi stuff, which is pretty expensive. If you took some Bonzi, like 2 cups say, and mixed it into a hot caustic brew, would it thicken and stick on the grease. Like they say it does? That would cut out the extra step of the compressor and foamer, which are 2 extra things I would rather do without. After all the foamer is to make the chemical stick to the grease longer. If anyone uses Bonzi, inquiring minds would like to know.

Does Corn Startch really work

Corn starch is commonly used as a thickening agent. As the starch is heated, the molecular chains unravel, allowing them to collide with other starch chains to form a mesh, thickening the liquid.

When using corn starch, first mix it with cold water (or another liquid) until it forms a smooth paste, and then add it to whatever is being thickened. If it is added directly into warm liquid it will form lumps that are then difficult to mash out for a smooth mixture.[2] An easy way to make certain that all the lumps are gone from the corn starch/water mixture is to put the two into a jar with a screw on lid and vigorously shake the sealed jar until the lumps are gone.

Our experience is that cornstarch does thicken it also will make the foam heavier, and that will tend to pull the foam.
I don't think I'd like to wipe-on or roll on a chem ....just saying

No Cornstarch was used in this photo!

Just think, one can always sell the left over Corn Starch to the Chinaman to make his soups thicker ?
Plus, Corn Starch is organic matter, and may weaken the chemicals I would think ?
Then there is the Foam weight issue, and the need to be heated for max viscosity. I would think that a liquid chemical designed to be used with Caustic/Alkaline Cleaners may be a possibly better approach.

Can Roof Snot work?

Can Roof Snot work?
Yes! You can mix in a little salt with Roof Snot, stir it, and it gets even thicker.
But, Myristamine is even better, if one can find it! (I hope I spelled it right) ?
The combination of Myristamine and Roof Snot makes a substance thicker then Myristamine alone.
Ammonyx M is Myristamine
Ammonyz LO is Lauramine Oxide

Both of these High PH Stable (Sodium Hypochlorite and Sodium Hydroxide) sufactants I just mentioned were pioneered by myself, and the guys at the Roof Cleaning Institute.
I have always said that KEC and Roof Cleaners were "first cousins", since both rely on chemicals to clean for us.
