Fayth also got to sit at the same exact stool I sat 43 years ago and had a malt made with the same equipment.

I think it is a blessing that Fayth has a Mom and Dad that takes a interest in stopping at places to explain the history to her. It takes a different meaning when you are at the actual places you have read about.

Very true, Great for the Sheltons!!!! My Dad did the same with us growing up. I was waiting for my daughter to get older and next year we are taking two weeks to drive from here to Minnesota and theres going to be some great stops, no amusement parks, just nature and history etc

Awesome trip so far Tony, thanks for sharing

She's not just learning history;

1. We stayed at an old historic hotel with regular keys instead of key cards. Fayth asked "Will these keys stiil work after checkout time?" :)

2. At grandma's house she was frustrated because she couldn't figure out that "goofy shower" that has TWO knobs.

3. Saw lightening bugs for the first time. Wanted to know why they only stay lit for a few seconds. I told her it was so their batteries won't run down.

4. Saw dew for the first time. Wants to know how come it rains every night.

I'm sure there's much more to come.

2. At grandma's house she was frustrated because she couldn't figure out that "goofy shower" that has TWO knobs. LOL again

4. Saw dew for the first time. Wants to know how come it rains every night. Funny

I'm sure there's much more to come.

Tony what great pictures. Its like where there with you. Cool stuff showing your kid some of american History. I do that with my kids when we get the chance. I love taking them to "Ripley Believe it or not" museums.

Here's a couple pics for you where I was on July 20th....I'll give you a hint here on these pics. We sat so close that I gave the head of security a letter to give to Bono. Supposedly he got it. Lets see if he responds since it has some powerwashing info on there.
You just never know and didn't mean to sabatage your post. One day you and I will meet...

K back to your pics mine were just a commercial in your interesting history shots.
Thanks

Those are great John. Fayth hasn't seen too many concerts. She did, however, have,a,unique experience....... Bluegrass music live at a Hardees... Every Friday night. CRAZY!

Anybody care to guess what part of the country this is?

You must be at "The Hermitage", home of first democratic President Andrew Jackson.

That was the right answer by the way. I never realized that Jackson was president during a time of uproar about states rights. "nullification" was a big topic during that time and he was expected to side with the states and it was a big deal when he didn't. He must have been influential on Lincoln later.

It has to be Jefferson. Others did experiments but they did not keep as good of records that Jefferson did.

Cool trip by the way. Your daughter also gets to learn that big cities don't make up America. Good for you hope you all are enjoying it.

Wow, that was quick! This was by far the best tour yet.

I really like Jefferson.

He remained friends with guys like Adams and Hamilton even though they all three held vastly different beliefs on the role of the federal government.

In the recent past public educators have tried to rewrite history regarding Jefferson to try to claim that he shared their goofy beliefs. But the rewrite is failing because he left behind too many documents that spell out his beliefs.

More pics in the next post.

Part of the drive from Monticello to Fredericksburg was called Constitution Way. It was hands down the most beautiful drive I've ever taken. Prior to that the best had been Hwy 1 north of San Francisco. Maybe the history had something to do with the beauty.
