Wal-Mart anyone else get the Letter?

Does it have anything to do with this.

USM has secured a $85 million (AUD 94.96 million) one-year contract to deliver maintenance services to more than 4,000 Walmart stores across the United States. The company also has won a one-year extension of its existing snow and ice removal contract with Walmart. Together, the contracts are estimated to be worth $130 million (AUD 145.24 million).

THAT'S 11K A YEAR FOR SNOW ALONE PER STORE!!!!! And USM wants to call contractors and try to get them to do it for 200 a push WTF!:yikes:

Ron, can you email or pm me some info please? I do have reclaim.

Thanks.
I have a friend who does work for Walmart but I think he deals with them directly, not USM.

Big nationwide retail stores and shopping center owners prefer the nationwide service vendors. It would be too expensive for them to hire on local level and have a supervisor for each property who understands the maintenance business such as: power sweeping, power washing, landscaping, snow plowing, janitorial etc. I think the CEOs and the top heads of the big retailers clearly understand that the nationwide vendor who subs out and may be the sub subs out as well will lower the quality of work due to lack of direct control and supervision. In addition to that, having too many "monkeys on the branch" divides the profit among all and the one who actually does the work is at the end of the branch at its thinnest part where he will need to survive by cutting corners or just making desperately low profit out of this work. Unfortunately for some and fortunately for others, this has been proven to be the best working strategy for most big names out there. I may be wrong.. :)

Thanks.

This will change, get on the list now. They will change this drastically in March.

Other services have.....its real please text me and I will share the info

I agree.
So are you one of those "monkeys on the branch"?

I didn't mean to offend anybody with this metaphor :), but yes, we are a local company that does real operation, not a service reseller.
Sometimes we count on volume and less profit. Although, I would chose any time the small account where I can establish personal, long term and exclusive relationship with my client in stead of taking the stress to cover huge account that requires more employees and equipment, more fixed expenses, more management, more stress, bigger volume and less profit per dollar. Let's not forget that all big accounts resubmit their RFP each year.
Again, this is just my personal opinion based on my personal experience.

DEAD ON MAN!!!! +1000 .... in other word USM gets local guys to do work at 100 store pricing when they only actually do maybe 3 or 4 ... They are honestly just a middle man ... and dont think its just going and performing the service. I will post the scope of work for their snow contract in another thread so everyone can see the IVR requirments
