I would say build but there are too many interest out there that are hard to overcome.

No matter how you slice it the same ones that control all the drama and "shitsturring" are and always be there.

Until some decide that they are not the all knowing contractors then we will be stuck with what we have ........ NOTHING

Russ and Guy. The one thing that both bod's did in both orgs was try to exclude Ron after using his promotion to build membership. Both of them were unable to separate business from personality conflicts with Ron or his "minions".
We can all agree to disagree. For example I don't think an org writing any bmp's will ever produce anything positive for us now. I tried to help go through the pwna bmp's under the false promise that they wouldn't be shopped. If I had known I was being misled I would have simply spoke against it altogether.

Maybe I'm wrong. If I'm I'm the minority I'll have to accept that. But I'll certainly present my thoughts on it.

Board members can't accept a position like that if they have a chip on their shoulder about anyone who contributes like Ron does.

Until someone comes to that realization, theres no way the industry can "agree to disagree" and become a "clear voice for anything.

Further, until a bod can be fully seated with members who would rather die than make unethical moves for their own benefit there will be no clear voice.

The contractors are just keeping thing out in the open. They are just using the boards to bring the light of day to things that would otherwise stay hidden. Just like the "investigation" nobody would have believed it without a full confession. (and some still don't believe it!) That's not making trouble, that's exposing corruption.

Purge out the corruption and maybe a group can eventually present a "clear voice".

In Houston, you don't have to worry about guys turning in others, one company is doing that, they are the eyes, photos, and emails of the police (probably without getting paid for doing it) and have turned in pressure washing contractors numerous times, I forgot their name, is it Goldblame, no, maybe it is Goldenrat, no, I forgot their name, O Well. Down here or further south or over on the East coast, they would not be ratting on people long, things have a way of working themselves out.

Goldstone Exteriors. And they are saying they don't do this anymore. Did not work out to well for them, so they are sayin.

They should offer to pay you back the money and your time you spent fighting this as when they are ratting out people.

The world knows that Goldstone Exteriors are ratting out pressure washing contractors in Houston Texas, that is a shame, I hope that Goldstone Exterior's customers don't find out about them stalking Houston Pressure washing contractors to rat them out to the police when they don't win every bid for every project that they bid on.

It is like they say, people don't like when you bad-talk other contractors, especially like when Goldstone Exteriors is calling the police on houston pressure washing contractors to turn them in, spying on houston pressure washing contractors and in some cases like in your case, stalking you and harassing you which you should have called the police for stalking and filed charges on Goldstone Exteriors for stalking and harrassing you while you are out there trying to work to feed your family.

That is just a shame what Goldstone Exteriors has been doing to houston pressure washing contractors, it is just a shame.

Here in the City of Houston this tactic has not worked well for any one. There have been many contractors (dating back to the early 90"s) that have decided that in order to keep from losing business to "non compliant" contractors they would start turning them in. Then the Police would go after not only the "non compliant" contractor and all it's employees on site, but also the Owner of the Business of the property being cleaned, the manager of the business, the property manager, and anyone else they could. Every PW'ing company I know of that tried this has either gone out of business or was/is very close to it.

Look, I can understand if a company has spent tens's of thousands of dollars on reclaim equipment and are losing jobs to companies that arent "compliant". But the problem becomes when these companies start turning in EVERYONE cleaning a property even though that property may not require it having to be reclaimed.

Having gone through this type of business practices here is what happens:

1) The property owner or manager of the business decides they will just no longer clean becuase they want no part of these "shenanigans" (there words not mine)
2) They hire a 'compliant company' and pay more money for reclaim, when their property does not require it, and, (I have seen this), that company doesnt actually reclaim.
3) This "compliant" company then actually causes irrepairable damage to the surface, because just because they have spent tens of thousands of dollars on equimpent, they forgot one thing, they forgot to learn how to operate the equipment and clean properly.
5) The store manager or manager of the business, property manager, and owner of the business, all get ticketed and have to go to court, all because they simply wanted there property cleaned up to make it MORE inviting to their customers because we as contractors tell them that nobody wants to spend there money at a business that looks unkept. And the employees of the company that did the work get ticketed also because the owner of the "compliant" company had no training or educational systems in place.

So in my opinion when we strart going around turning people in NOBODY WINS. Not you, Not the Potential Customer, and Certainly not our Industry.

I agree w Guy and others on this board, EDUCATION is the key. We must EDUCATE first the contactors in our industry so that we then can EDUCATE our customers about responsible environmental cleaning. We need to stop talking about it and we need to DO IT. Otherwise we will continue to be our own worst enemy.

I personally would like to be a part of the solution, not the problem. Just want to get that out there.

You're Hired! When can you start working on my SEO? :bow-down:

We never have, and our main competitor doesn't reclaim, although he tells people that he does with his 16 gallon shop-vac. The only thing we have done is that we lost an account to him that needs to be reclaimed since the stormwater is monitored by the EPA. They are probably concerned because it is a food service company and they must not want grease and etc. going into the Mississippi. He was a dollar per unit cheaper. Of course, he didn't and CAN'T reclaim this account, yet the new fleet manager from the foodservice company got mad when our manager tried to point this out to him, hence the reason for the higher price. In an effort to really "prove his worth" and show that he is such a good hire because he is saving the company money, he didn't ask us why we're $1 more than our competition. So now they switched and his pride can be responsible for getting the company a fine (if the EPA ever decides to enforce that). We have better things to do than follow our competition around and spy on them anyway. Nobody likes a crybaby. Just focus on doing what you need to do and the rest will take care of itself.

That from a very successful business operation that competes in a fairly large market.

Great ethics and business practices!!

When you wash fleets your breaking the LAW by not reclaiming if your not on a pad. It doesn't matter where you are its the law, maybe there is no enforcement in many counties and states.

That is not entirely true, there are minimum treatment requirements but the water does not always have to be recollected. Water can also be recollected from the ground it does not have to be a pad. That being said there are localities that do require pads as well as companies that are stricter than published BMP's.

Would I turn a competitor in, depends on the case. I speak with many of the companies I come across and inform them if they are not being compliant as well as tell them how they can do it in the easiest and least expensive manner. My concern is more along the lines that if they screw it up it screws it up for me too.

The solid material has to be captured, most places require the recycled ed water stays onsite. We have gotten way off track...for sure

Guess I'm in the vast minority. LOL. I still stick to my position.

I would agree with that...Again as for turning them in it really depends on the situation and how bad it is.
