Plastic Sheeting

Hanging a hood takes time and practice-no right ways - many wrong ways.

Sorry Dave but you are wrong...my way is the right way...everyone elses way is the wrong way.;)

Just take your time and look for ways that the water can be contained and not bust out of your controled area..

Only try this with crisp fresh plastic sheeting though, you will definitly lose control with dirty plastic.:)

Was Eds post aimed at you or me Josh??? It must be you-left a mesg. for you to give me a call.

I have been entertained by the post in this thread for many weeks now. I was discussing this issue with a good friend of mine, and we both agree that reusing, reusable plastic is sometimes a good idea, instead of throwing away plastic that has not even looked like it has not been used. I was taught by a great hood cleaner that showed me how to reuse plastic from job to job. He also used 4mil. This worked well, expectly when you had the same hoods, like BK, or McD's. I myself now still reuse plastic for overspray purposes. But a lot of the jobs, expectly the first time, there is no way I would reuse this plastic. Everyone has many oppinoins, stupid as well as entertaining, but when using good jugdement on the plastic issue, go for it. And another thing, big heads sometimes mean small :D . Just my two cents.

I did use 4 mil but found 3 mil at sherwin williams was cheaper and held up pretty well.
How many of you guys put boards under the plastic? Lets have a show of hands. ME, I do.

I am thru with plastic.. I think I am just going to start requireing my customers to move all of the appliances out from under the hood before I clean it .. Then I will line up a series of garbage cans to catch the grease...
Something like if you move all of your appliance before our crew arrives we will knock $ 10.00 off the price.....

Ok maybe not .. I guess I am off to Freds to buy some more cheap plastic...

$5.00 on the Oakland Raiders

Well, tried it last night. Reused plastic on the second job. Ive gotta say, it wasnt that bad, pretty slippery but well worth the 47 cents I saved.

all of .47 cents, now that is good. My wife would say "you are a big one to talk-you pick up soda cans."
