Just so you all know...

@ Steven, your right brother, your absolutly right.

Thanks for the wishes and Merry Christmas to you too, I was loking at the Norad Santa Tracker earlier and he was in Ireland! Looks like the family already hooked up!

Maybe they are fat with Christmas goodies.

I know we had 4 turkeys, a ham, a 8 pound pork loin plus tons of syuff to go with it, I can officially balance my keyboard on my belly for the night but I am still better looking than Mark Sexton and the lady at the service station will sign off on that!

Merry Christmas and ROLL TIDE!

Guys,

This post was not supposed to create a firestorm against AC. Actually, this was only to alert anyone that had purchased Green Wash in the last month or so to take a look at their product and make certain that they got what they paid for. I bought two buckets of Green Wash and one bucket of Bleach Wash and they are all the same color.

I did a huge job on a cathedral with it and I was not at all impressed with the product, but decided to not say anything on here until I figured out if I had done something wrong. It appears that I received Bleach Wash that had been mislabeled as Green Wash, but since I had never seen any of it, the only thing I could do was go off of what was printed on the label.

Unfortunately, I ended up spraying the building EIGHT times to clean it and because it took so long I ran out of crane time. The crane ended up costing over $10,000 and it was supposed to cost less than $4,000. I ran out of time because my mix was not working and I had to keep re-applying. This took almost 3.5 times longer than planned because it appears that I was mixing in BLEACH WASH and that product is made to neutralize bleach.

This is not AC's fault, but it is the fault of the company that packages the product. This is a perfect example of how one tiny problem can snowball into something huge in no time.

Not only did I use 1.5 containers of BLEACH WASH in my mix, but I was not able to fulfill my contract with the church because of it. They agreed to pay for the crane separately from me, but when it exceeded 10 grand they decided to shut me down. I still have some rust and copper stains on the bell tower that I contracted to remove, but unfortunately for me, they were not willing to continue to pay for me taking so long. In fact, the facility manager said that it was taking way longer than I told him it would.

Fortunately, they are very happy with the results, just not the cost.

They church is having me go back and clean the rest of the property, but now I have to provide the crane out of my pocket to clean the rust stains from the bell tower. I only hope that the company that packaged the product will own up to their mistake and pay for the crane.

I only posted this to alert people that there may be a problem with theirs as well and not to give AC any bad publicity.

I have already contacted AC this morning and he wanted an email that he could forward to the manufacturer, which I did. I can say that AC has been honest in his dealings with me and I have no complaints as long as this is handled quickly.

One person's screw up in labeling caused me a lot of grief and made me look very bad in front of a very important customer. I hope they get their act together soon. As for the Green Wash... I don't know what to say about it because I have evidently NEVER used it yet.

Sorry for the trouble AC and anyone else that got called names as a result of this post. Let's just wait and see what happens. It would be great if I could give the church a check for $6,500 and get the crane back to finish the job without me having to take that hit.

Merrry Christmas

Why in the world would you spray something 8 TIMES to get it clean?I can guarantee after 2 applications of cleaner and it's not clean there is going to be equipment taken apart and repaired or replaced. There is no way I would keep spraying the same stuff and expecting a different outcome. There is something wrong with your equipment or techniques obviously. The fact that you went over on the crane by quadruple the hours bis is a big indicator that something is wrong.

Is this the soft washing techniques you were taught? There is a time for "Soft washing" and there is time for "Power washing"How many years have you been doing jobs of this scope?I don't care to get into the pissing contest about this guy or that but you posted a very interesting post about a job that went completely off the reservation using this stuff.

Lets discuss the real world results of this product.I don't know what it's made of or what it does(No one answered my earlier question about what it is).I will say this I know what soaps work and ones that I have tried that don't.If I'm going to test a new product I don't think it would be when I'm paying 2 or 3 grand a day for a crane. In the winter when it's slow on a small resi job yeah, but not on this job.I don't know who is a fault for the job going to heck but I'm SHOCKED that the customer still wants to use you again.Or do they just want you to finish the job and move on?

Read the post again. The customer wants me back because they said that end result was everything I claimed it would be. If you just want to attack AC, then go ahead. I may be in your city soon and would be more than happy to meet up fot a face to face chat with you. I may even let you buy me lunch.

I would love to learn all I can from you as I am sure you are an expert.

I had no choice in what chemicals I was using once I started because I couldn't buy what I needed in the city I was working and it would have taken a day to drive to find some more. It was a decision I made at the time while the crane was there. The job came out beautifully because I did not give up.

As far as taking equipment apart, it is not an equipment problem and if you had any reading comprehension at all, then you would have understood that.

We just completed a 4 hr paint removal from Discount Tire bays in 24 hrs. Live and learn. Our chems didn't work right either.

Sometimes, you just don't know what you should until you are too far into it to turn around. I am in the Air Force reserve and joined in 1985. One thing I have learned is that you just cannot quit sometimes even when you wish you could. Thanks Tony. Merry Christmas.

I agree with J.C. There has to be a point where you just be honest with the customer and say you are going to try something else. If they hadn't stopped you for the massive crane budget would you have sprayed 10, 12, 25 times if needed? No ones claiming to be an expert but he makes a good point you don't have to reply like a jerk. Live and learn I guess, I'm sure next time you will double check to make sure your chemical will do the job, do a test spot and arrange for a backup chemical before paying the big crane bucks.

Did a huge test area and that is how I got the job and estimated the time to finish the job. It was not until after I mixed the chemicals that things went wrong. I didn't have the Green Wash when I did the test spot and it cleaned up quickly and looked beautiful. Again, just another person who knows nothing opening their mouth and proving themself to be an idiot.

As I said before, you were not there, I was and I made the decisions I made based on the information I had at the time. I see this place is full of armchair quarterbacks.

I could not stop because there were time constaints placed on me because of the school they have on campus and the changes that had to be made in order to facilitate having the crane there. I kept spraying because I could see results with each application and I would have stopped if NOTHING was happening. ALL OF THESE ARE THINGS YOU DIDN'T KNOW.

Hope you have a Merry Christmas BICHAZ.

I guess I don't understand, but the customer (church) just let you run up an unlimited amount of crane time that they paid for? Did you not have to submit a bid? I've always submitted bids on the entire project whether or not I finished in 30 min or 2 weeks, it was that cost and if I went over budget, I just had to eat it. Kudos for you if you got someone to give you unlimited crane time on their dime....you must be a good salesmen. Not knocking ya, just saying that all my customers want a bottom line number.

The church wanted the crane. I was going to use a boom. I am very glad they demanded the crane. The church paid for the crane separately from me. The contract listed my price and there was a blank spot for the crane because we did not know the exact cost. It was their decision. We have all learned a lesson and hopefully the packager of the product that I used will not make the same mistake again.

Even if nothing is done by them to reimburse me or anyone else involved, the church is VERY HAPPY and I will be cleaning the remaining buildings on the campus. I am a perfectionist and I cannot accept anything less than perfection in my work and it bothers be when I am the mercy of someone else (chemicals). I won't let that happen again. So yes, I have learned from this as well.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AGAIN and I really mean it this time.

I wish I would have just kept my big mouth shut and avoided all of this BS. I doubt I will be posting much in the immediate future amd if I could delete this post entirely, then I would be more than happy.

Don't worry , staff will in the morning.
