I ABSOLUTELY love Square Invoice

I rarely use square as most of my customers pay by check. I also give a 5% discount when paid by check. For invoicing I use my invoices and estimates deluxe as it's extremely customazible and easy to use.

Yep square is bowing to the Obama admin. and not allowing anything to do with guns on their system. Obama is threatening financial institutions and they are scared and complying. As for the transactions in Canada, probably some banking regulations at work there. I love it but if they ever start getting squirrely, there are several companies soliciting me every week, including my own bank.

Used my invoice a couple weeks ago and after an hour or so it finally all went through.. Client was in New York sending me payment to clean house in Florida. After me waiting around twirling my thumbs, plus these recent posts is making me rethink square!

Went to use it one day and it needed a update. Took forever and made me look stupid In front of customer. That sucked!

3.5 % the other day. They charge you more when you don't slide the card.

To my knowledge all merchants charge more when you don't swipe. Keyed-In transactions are almost always more expensive than a magnetic swipe because they are classified as "card-not-present" transactions, and are therefore viewed as being much more susceptible to fraud. At least that's the way I've had it explained to me.

Square % is to high

Never used it, no plans to. Own merchant terminal fees less.

Ron who are you running it thru and what fee are they charging you? Or do you have a phone number.
3.5% fees from square. I just got a quote for 2.75% with a charge of .25 cents every time I use it. Plus have to buy the machine for $275 and get $8 a month -

That and the fact that there is a ton of personal info on the magnetic strip that they can harvest and create and or add to your buying profile for future marketing and or lists they can sell.

OK please don't flame me for re-opening this old thread. :D

I'm in-between Square, PayPal Here, and Chase Mobile Checkout. The first two have upfront pricing and are identical. I've dug through JPMorgan Chase website and all I can find is, "call us to discuss your payment processing options..." :bleh: NO THANKS!

Benefit I see with Square: money goes straight to my biz checking acct, invoicing

Benefit I see with PayPal Here: recognizable brand, quite a few people carry a PayPal balance these days. Spending out of their PP acct is psychologically not the same as spending out of their checking acct.

Benefit I see with Chase MC: JPMorgan Chase has my biz checking acct. Funds don't have to take a detour before landing in my acct.

That's just off the top of my head. I need to look into QBO payments too. I like the idea of having EVERYTHING in one place. If anyone has any more praises/gripes about any of their payment processors, please drop me a PM or comment here.

ETA:
I see Square offers $1000 free processing for both a new customer (me) and the current Square customer. If you're a Square customer, PM me your signup link and we'll both benefit.
