Has anyone used the 22hp Harbor Freight engine? I have one of there 13hp predator motors and it works great.

It's on their site, so I'd imagine it's available. If it's as strong as advertised it wouldn't be a bad deal. Unless, like a lot of HF tools, it fell apart a month later....

It's about time they put it up, it wasn't there three days ago.

Their small engines aren't bad. Not Honda but not garbage either. They need some attention out of the box, mainly the wiring and then loc-tite everything down. Run it in for 6-8 hours, change the oil and run it how you want.

The Lifan is a better engine bit it's also $400 more. I've been waiting for this engine to come out and will probably pick one up pretty soon.

What do you mean? You have to rewire everything?

Not for sale in California, I knew there was a catch to it at that price.
Lol. If I made engines, I wouldn't bother with the extra effort to conform to impossible compliance standards of California either. Many companies that make two stroke equipment have to make separate versions of blowers, trimmers and such, specifically for California.

Ralph, do you have a base, pulleys, a gearbox, or anything yet? We could do 8 @ 3000.

No. I'm just thinking out loud. Can you price that stuff out for me? I'd like a gearbox, because it's easier and smaller footprint. I just got a 20% coupon in the mail from harbor freight. I wonder if I can use that towards the engine? It is supposedly on sale already.
