We have a big guy bar on our sc and a tip popped out of it. I attempted to put a new tip in it and the thread on the bar is damaged. Can thread be fixed?
Probably not, if that happens we usually just replace it, it aluminum so its very soft and easy to strip the threads. We have a big guy bar on our sc and a tip popped out of it. I attempted to put a new tip in it and the thread on the bar is damaged. Can thread be fixed?
Larry PM me your address, I am going to send mine to you, my guy here cant fix them, I have 6 ! hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha (Giggly puff)I had the same thing happen last week Jonathan. I had the hole on the bar re-threaded and it is working fine. Be sure to use locktight on the threads of the new spray tips. Teflon Tape doesn't seem to work to good especially after the holes are re-thraded. You can only do that so many times though. After that ya gonna need a new bar. Mine have been done 2x now. Hope this helps!

Go to lowes and get a 1/4 mpt tap. Take the tap and re-thread the hole yourself. I have not been able to find the Male Pipe Thread Tap anywhere but lowes as for the box stores but they have them made by Cobalt and on an endcap near the welders if i am not mistaken. Check it out.
I think the thread design for the nozzles on the bar of whiper wash surface cleaners is crap and made mention of it on PTState a while back.
For the money we are paying for whiper wash surface cleaners they can add stainless inserts to the bar for the nozzles to thread into.
There are plenty of us who would R&D the new bar design and see if it works and is worth adding a few more dollars to the price.

if the spray bar is the weakpoint now, and we replace these for stainless inserts what will be the next weakest link. The shaft. If this is the case and you hit a bolt you would potentially be fixing swivels instead of spray bars. Any thoughts on this
Man I just read the name of this thread again and I can't believe nobody has asked when is happy hour. Hey Russ you going to be the one opening up the "Big Guy Bar", I think it will go over better if you make it "Big Guy's Bar" doesn't sound like one of Larry's places then.
