Whats wrong with black

That is a nice looking set-up Walter. Good job. Only one problem Whats with that bow tie pulling the trailer. Every knows if you what pure POWER you need that RAM up front. DODGE RAM that is.

Wish the pic came out better but im new to the digital camera. Sorry but chevy is the way to go, at least a deisel chevy. This 454 lacks.

A diesel Chevy??? Do they make one that lasts? Sorry Diesel is the way to go, but defintely not in a Chevy. I have my own preferences. :D  Definitely not a Do*g* though. Black is good as long as it is detailed.

Deisel

I thought they made a good one this past year called the duramax. Unfortunatly I wont have one for at least a few years when it comes within my reach.

I just agree Diesel is the way to go I have a 99 Dodge Cummins. Love it and will never go back to regular gasoline. I just had to say something I knew me knocking a Chevy would get people to start talking.lol :D

I would wait on the Duramax. I have heard from a couple of different sources that thy are having problems with them, of course one of the sources is the www.Ford-Diesel.com website. They may be just a little bit biased.

I also have not heard great things about the new Chevy Diesel. I read in one of my four wheeling magizine's that it was not all it was supposed to be. They compared the Big Three Dode, ford, and the new Chevy. There was no clear winner. Ford and Dodge were all most the same and the Chevy had to stop half way through because it blew something and could not finish the tests. I would not trust it just yet. I would stay with a ford or a DODGE

I have a Dodge Diesel and love it, it has pulls my trailer great. It blows away my previous truck that had a 5.9L V8 and I get better mileage to boot. I like the color black on a truck, but I bought a bronze colored truck which is pretty easy to keep clean.

A question for you guys out there with enclosed trailers, what do you do when you need to work on or fix something that is in the front of the trailer? My dad helped me build my set-up, which is on a dual axle flat bed trailer and we built walls and a roof around everything and put 6 doors in it to get to everything easily.

Walter, That has to be one of the uglyest setups i have ever seen............ What do you have in the trailer a cold water washer from wal-mart?

Just Kidding.

Very nice looking setup.

Maybe in a year or so you can have your stuff look like mine:)

Talk to later dude.

All of our trucks are black (except for one white one...will change that by Spring)
And they look great when clean.
3 Chevy's and one GMC...2 of 'em are 454's and have no probs!

Of course a nice Cummins or Detroit would be a bit better though...

Walter,
Nice set up. Black is the color that rules. Your set up is somewhat similiar to mine. I have a 7'x12'enclosed black trailer(I wish it was 16' in length) that is pulled by a black Dodge Diesel Dually.

I have pictures of my set up on my digital camara. I just have to figure out how to put it on to this site.(Damn I'm slow. I had this camara since last Christmas and I still don't know how to post pictures):(

Sending pics

convert your picture to web format and save it in Documents, Briefcase, etc. then it should be no problem to attach the file when you browse and select that file.

black

Walter, I had a black1996 Chevy (view it at my website, haven't had time to change the picture). Traded it for a 2001 Ford power stroke. The Ford will run circles around the Chevy. I believe the white Ford with the 20' black trailer draws more attention than the black Chevy did with it. P.S. I drove Chevys for 13 of the last 20 years. The Ford has the power.

In my humble opinion, which is all this discussion really is anyway,

GM has the best powertrains
Ford has the best interior design
Dodge has the best exterior body design

But like they say.....Opinions are like a**holes,
everybody has one!

Sorry APlus, I have to disagree with you. For diesel engined pickups, Ford and Dodge both wipe GM out. For the gasoline engines, GM are easier to work on, and the parts are cheaper, but I have had better luck with the Fords. As for design and ergonomics, The Dodge is the worst.

Scott,
I also owned Fords and now I have a Dodge Dually Cummings Diesel Pickup Truck which has been great.

I have to disagree with you about Dodges truck design. Thats what they were famous for when they came out with there design a few years back.

Why do you think Ford ended up copying there design with the front of there trucks a couple of years ago?

But it is like Arplus said about opinions..........

John

If you will go and look back at the Medium duty ford trucks from the 80's and even the late seventies, and you will se teh family resemblance. Of course, all of the medium duty trucks look that way. I like the 94 and up Dodges, but then there are the 2002 Dodges, they are way ugly.

Scott

Ok Scott, my Dodge diesel is on its way down there to bash front end to front end with that FORD of yours!

The nerve of you picking on us DODGE OWNERS.

Any other Dodge owners want to join me it will be TOUGH for one Ford to avoid us?
