Carbon dating is flawed and inaccurate past a certain point of time and then becomes theoretical anyway. I don't have the time or the space on the forum to give the entire explanation as to why, but you can get it on the site I've mentioned above if you really want to know.

Gopherwood, which is what the text says was used, has been searched for for many years in order to find out what it actually IS/WAS. From what I understand, it was not an actual "wood type", but rather a method of assembling the wood to create an interlocking structure - sort of like roof trusses. So, the Hebrew word for 'gopherwood' us literally translated "interlocking wood". Neat, huh??

This was part of God's instructions on how to construct the ark so that a vessel of that scale could indeed survive the violence of the waters gushing forth from the earth's crust.

Did y'all know it had never "rained" before the flood? The vapor canopy took care of all the needs. In fact, people probably really thought Noah had "lost his mind" when he was trying to tell them about how the world would be flooded and that a huge amount of water was going to fall on them from the sky. I'm sure they must have laughed and snickered and scoffed. I guess some things never change, do they? :)

In english text gopher wood is -God telling Moses go for wood Moses
:sarcastic:

For the guys out there who believe in God but believe in the Long day theory how do you reconcile this:

If the fossil record shows carnivorous animals prior to the introduction of man, how could "death" have come into the world through Adam?

Also, How did God create plants on one day and the sun the day after? How could plants live 1000+ years without the sun?

Probably the same way that man was created from the dust of the earth.

If there is any doubt how bad the economy here is, we just had a neighbor come by taking donations to bury a teenage boy from down the street. His home was being foreclosed on and he committed suicide in the back yard. He didn't want to move. It was embarrassing to him.

Two people have died here in standoffs with police over foreclosures.

I know that sometimes I sound negative, but our economy is nothing like mid America. Times are tough right now.

I'm reading a book called "Show me God" that holds to the old Earth theory just for you Scott. I'll get back with you when I'm done with it.

I am not convinced of the old earth theory, and I also am not convinced of the new earth theory, just like I am not convinced that the second coming is coming in 2012, or any other time. It really is not important to me.
It is important to me that God created the earth and me, and that I do my best to emulate him on earth so that I can return to live with him.

Man thats a shame

But also people place to much value on things, health and family is what is important. My family has been close to broke when I was young, we fought back and survived I have had rough times that I created myself and it was my family that saved me not a house or a car, it was my Mom, Dad and brother

To bad that young man wasn't able to realize everything gets better sooner or later

There's a reason I always say life is good

God bless that boy

And you had a doubt? Kind of curious how some biblical truths are scientifically proven.

I'm a Christian man and have plenty of other sites that I'm dealing with Jws, Mormon's and the like talking faith is more draining to my energy than my 4.5 gal portable PW is with water dilution.

I am assuming from this statement that you think that only born again Christians have faith. Am I not understanding correctly?

Who's keeping score?

I'm a biblical Christian. Basically meaning the bible + nothing else or Jesus + nothing else is my faith. Many people have faith Scott and read different books considering them to be inspired by God but as for Jesus and the bible the bible teaches He is the only way to God the Father.

Christianity doesn't get the "Most Tolerant Faith Award".

There are a lot of books that teach that Jesus is the only way to eternal life. What is your point?

Scott,

I answered your question to the best of my ability...to continue further down this road wouldn't be edifying.

From your statement, you can either believe in the Bible or Jesus. Not both. Either that or you are implying that Jehovah's witnesses and Mormons think salvation comes because of someone else. That is wrong, too, on both counts.

Scott,

Let me clarify myself. The bible teaches that salvation is in Christ Jesus alone apart from works. JWs and Mormon's and many other faiths require works+ Jesus or works alone or someone else = salvation or no salvation at all. A born again Christian should naturally have good works as the outcome of walking in faith in the Spirit not in order to be saved. Christianity teaches that the bible alone is inspired by God and all needed for sound doctrine and instruction in the faith.
Faith in Jesus alone = salvation VS faith + good works are two different faiths and teachings. Hopefully this clears things up?

Mike
