I mention this in a earlier post, Now I want to make a formal request.
Today I created a post where someone lost a family member and I posted it under Mindless babbling.
As it was mention before this is a place that some might seem that you enter at your own risk, Hence the title.
I think we need to add a couple more categories to our forum so we have a place to post things like I posted today and other spiritual things or discussions that don't belong in Mindless babbling.
Now is the time to speak up and voice an opinion! If you would like to see this happen, lets make it happen!

I agree but allow the Staff to vote. Scotts the final Say as always. he loves that...
 
Al,
I am pretty certain that I am as active a church goer as anyone on this forum. I even make the effort to go to church while I am on vacation. I also have been publically and privately attacked on these forums for my beliefs. So to that, and understanding that there would be a really good chance that any discussion on these topics would have a serious chance of exploding and creating hard feelings, I do not think that it would be appropriate to have any type of religious discussions on an industry forum. I really do not want to spread a spirit of discontent, or make anyone feel unwelcome because of their beliefs.

That's kind of what he's asking for...a place away from the tomfoolery to post serious concerns and requests for spiritual backing.

I vote Yea for support and encouragement, and nay for a discussion area. After all, it isn't a theological discussion forum. It's about pressure washing. Period. But pressure washer guys need a boost or a kind thought now and again.

I agree with Russ on this one lets keep politics and religion off boards. I believe that bring up your religion will bring on fights to the board that none of us want. So I am going no to this thread.

I have to agree

At most change the name of mindless babbling to something else
 
It would fit in an area where we can put up info on our favorite charities, and friends and family disscussion's.
 
I like the idea of doing this, however, my only concern is for the people that treat people differently due to the fact that they do not believe the same way. That being form their faith to the way their children are raised to the way they pressure wash. We have seen it time and time again, person "A" does not agree with something that person "B" and so all the sudden, person "A" belittles "B" and puts it off as though person "B" is wrong. All the time, it was only that "A" did not agree with "B", not that anyone was right or wrong.

I would not be opposed to above, however, I am afraid that there would be a lot of "you dont agree / believe just as I do so you are wrong."
 
I think a combination of Russ's 'Off Topic' section and Nick's 'charities, friends and family' suggestions would work.... 'Mindless Blabbering' could be a section of its own under 'off topic' for content that may offend.

With regard to a 'spiritual' section, I think that spirituality and religious beliefs could often be considered as part of a persons persona thus an increase in the possibility of causing offense and more unnecessary fall outs. I respect others beliefs, however, PWI is an industry board (albeit, at time content may be questionable to some) and I don't think this subject merits its own section.
 
I don't think that a religious discussion area would work here, too many different personality types, probably lots of different religious backgrounds (we don't want to start bashing one religion vs. another do we? It could happen very easy with a forum like this).

Maybe re-name the Mindless Blabbering to something like Off-Topic discussions or Not-Pressure Washing Related or something else.

I agree that people could benefit from some more religion but people don't want it forced on them or insisted which is possible to happen which could start arguments, etc...

Why not start a group on a religous bbs or a room there and invite the members from here to go there and join?

Sometimes it is hard to get people to agree about things and harder to get along (especially in winter.....cabin fever) so adding religion is another thing for people to discuss, argue, fight over, maybe it is best kept on a religious bbs?

How does the saying go? It does not matter where you worship and pray, only that you do.
 
Personally I like the idea. It would be nice to have a special place to post. I also think that spiritually it would be good for the whole PWI family and support for the industry itself. In God We Trust... :)
