saturation and dwell time is definitely a key factor. No brushing, we apply our sodium hypochlorite/surfactant solution and let it dwell. Then, we gently remove all saturated lichens with a fresh water rinse. We apply & rinse one more time after physical debris is removed. Saturate both sides of the material and give it some time to penetrate for best results.
most of the the aluminum awnings i have had to clean were extremely bad. i have tried different cleaning mixes but pressure was still needed, otherwise the dwell time would have been way too long.Yes, there isn't much that we can't softwash with great results.
Thanks Tim
Do you reseal after cleaning?
Tim,
How did you know that the SH would be ok on these awnings?
Thanks,
Mike
Good information to know I was curious if SH had any ill effects on a canvas awning.
