X-jet

Dryvit mfg. recommends a solution of one gallon warm water, one quart household bleach, and eight onces of TSP for cleaning their product. How do I do that with an X-jet?

Thanks,
Barry

What do you want to do?

Double check with Ron at Xterior ( 1-800-XTERIOR ) but, I think the xjet is 2 to 1.

So, if that's the case, I think you'd mix that cleaner three times strength so when it hits the house it is about right.............(I'd at least double the recipe)

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Do you guys use the x-jet to apply and rinse chems. That would be awesome if you could apply and rinse from the ground on two story homes. After waving a 24' extension wand for a couple of hours, I am whipped.

you get your chems up there with your 24 wand ????

cheers paul.

Wash and rinse

There is a shutoff valve in the X-Jet draw hose. When the valve is in the closed position it shuts off your chemicals and goes into the rinse mode. Your pump supplies the force and the X-Jet hose supplies the chemical vacuum.

I downstream my chems either w/ or w/out wand. Ususally w/out b/c it generally reaches second story.

So with an x-jet I could apply chems and rinse. Would 3500/4gal be powerful enough to hit the second story with enough force to remove stains?

with the x-jet you use the strangth and quality of the chem to do the cleaning and the water just to wash the chem and soil away.
Impact force is very little. On a 24 ft peak with a 72" lance you not going to get much more force then if you were 5 ft away with a garden hose, but if you use the right chem. You dont need more then that.

what a crock, the X-JET , o should i spend $9.95 or should I spend $159 , o please :D

LOL@Mel! I've never tried the X-jet, I can't see spending the money. But I did buy the Thruster from e-spec which is thier version of the X-jet( I think it was like $19) and its extra work I thought to haul around the bucket of chem so I tried a 15 gallon drum on the hand cart and still not worth it. The only time I would use this thing is to reach the peaks of a tall house. Other than that I really have no use for this thing.

To each his own, I guess. If someone told me I had to choose between my wife and my X-Jet, I'd say I am gonna miss that ol' gal. My X-Jet never nags, doesn't need to buy new shoes and never minds if I watch the race instead of "Beaches".

Yeah but think about it. That X-jet can't get the "job" done.

I don't understand the relevence of that ^

the reffrence

a x-jet is simpley a tool.
a hammer is a tool.
not everyone can use the same tools to get the same results.
I find it funny that e-spec preach's that you cant get anything clean unless you get the right amount of chem on the surface.
Then trash mouth's the one tool that is used with the pressure washer that applies the chem at the highest ratio.

Its not that I can't get the results I want it just takes to much extra work to drag around a bucket of chem or my 15 gallon drum on the hand cart. The first time I tried it I said nope nope nope this aint working. I just mix the chem in the tank on my trailer instead of the drum and pull the 100ft of hose out connected to the Flo-Jet. that hose goes everywhere my washer hose goes minus the bucket or hand cart. And the Flo-Jet wand has a 25 degree tip on it so I can cover alot of area fast. If the chemical is not strong enough with the XJ you have to chage colors for a higher chemical draw and that takes time I just cut back the water I have metered in.

I'm not in anyway saying that the X-jet is junk, some of you like it and thats great but I've tried it or its similar product and found that my Flo-jet is alot less time consuming.

I agree with Russ...
Seems like a back pack tank would be a fairly simple solution to luging a bucket/jug/barrel/ (or insert some other tank type thing here) around.

True, you are still carrying the weight around, but I've seen many of the landscape guys hauling them all day.. Are you guys saying you aren't man(men) enough? :):):) (Really.. no offense..just pokin' fun)

Anyway, Russ has a good idea and unless someone else comes along with a better one, it's probably how we'll do it when we get our X-jet.
