Stan, I understand what you are saying. It's also nice to see that this isn't getting out of control and we are all communicating here.
Einstein was a genius, but no way could he have lead a country. My point is that Bush may not have finished first in his class. He may not have even been in the top 50 percentile, but he's made it to the Presidency of the United States, and when we were attacked that man was faced with a major problem, (aside from the already crashing economy) and some major decisions to make to best protect OUR Country from another terrorist attack. I think he took on a huge ordeal here and he acted on it. He over-stepped the UN and I feel, he had to act and act quickly. We can't lay down. We couldn't spend the next 5 years trying to figure out who, what, why, when and what's next. We as a country had to do something and Bush as the leader of our Country did what leaders do, not what geniuses do, he pulled the trigger when he needed to. He didn't negotiate, he didn't procrastinate, and he didn't need anyone's permission, he lead the Country to war. A war that's been going on for a long time.
Since that time he's been up against probably some of the toughest decisions of all. The beheading of Nick Berg... it's a tragedy. I had the liberty of watching the entire uncut version as I think every American adult should. This shows the kind of militant groups we are dealing with. Saddam is no better and you all know that.... But, with the beheadings and the pressure from the press and all the bad mouthing and tears that have been shed over this incident, Bush has stood his ground and is continuing the fight for freedom. What he did in 1978... Hell I could care less. I'm not the same person now as I was 10 years ago and neither are you.
The fact is, we are facing something larger than we've ever faced before as a country with some very bad enemies that want to take away our freedom and do great harm to our nation through a religious beliefs. They aren't going to stop. If we stop, they win and will continue to cripple our Country. I don't think Bush is stopping and we need to support our leader. Whether we like him, his past, or whatever, he needs the support of the American Citizens now more than ever.
I also agree with Squirt. I think a change in presidendcy during this time of war will be catastrophic. The war is far from over Grant. It's going to take years and if anyone believes for one moment that John Kerry is going to step in and step up, is sadly mistaking.
Once again, I'm no polititian. I never rarely watch tv. I also don't want to get technical about all this crap. We were struck and struck hard and we struck back and much harder. That's America and I thank God we had an idiot like Bush there to actually get the job done and continually to fight.
There, that's really all I can say about it.
