If we all voted for ron we would all own Landa and vacation in Las Vegas.
Just kidden lol!

As for me Kerry does not sound true. Justin I like what you said and agree with your stand. The sitting President is the one with the decisions and everyone else can second guess as what should of happened.

The peanut king backed Clinton and the Clintons are backing Kerry. Demacrates backing Demacrates that is the way it always goes. BUT I see things in these Presidents that hurt the country. I was in the military when both these were in office and from lack of decision to insuficiant funds and military made life hard on the military and therfore (my belief) that the US could be in danger. A strong military keeps a country safe.

As for Kerry the ONE thing (Came from his own mouth) not a quote - I will defer to the United Nations for all world decitions. NOT something I want to heare from a person runing for office who's prime job is to protect the people of the United States.

Look

Look, I am not for Kerry or Bush or Nader. I think they all suck as most politicians all do. I think it is time for a rebellion. I think it is time for us (Americans) to take back our country. The rich get richer and the working man suffers. Look at our service men/women, very low paid while the decision makers make $175,000 per year to start. Where are their sons and daughters ? I dont see them in Iraq.

How many times have you thought about it ?

If we have to choose between the better of two evils the check this out:

http://news.findlaw.com/legalnews/lit/election2004/docs.html

Scroll down and read all documents pertaining to both Bush and Kerry. Scott where ever you got your so called record of fact is WRONG. The better of two evils served from 1966 - 1978 and even requested to go to vietnam and serve on a patrol boat. The 4 months that you quote in your post was his enlisted time. He was accepted in officer training school after that and went on to serve until 1978. So you are wrong. Please go to the above site and read every document. You will be amazed at this individual.

Where was Bush Jr. while vietnam was going on ?

This dictates a true patriot.

One Call,
I have actually seen this.It is NOT(I somehow left this one very important word out,so it read very different than how I intented it to) just about military service, however, the better of 2 evils stabbed his fellow soldiers in the back. Then he threw away his medals(a bigger slap in the face to his peers and this country)medals he now proudly displays and uses to try and help build patriotic support for his presidential campaign
You won't hear me say Bush is perfect, but in this election we as voters need to stay the course.A change in presidents at this time will prove deadly for more Americans on American soil.
Sure let the UN make all decisions, that will be the beginning of the New World Order......heck,Kerry may be the anti-christ.You know, one govenment for the world and then the Apocolyse(sp?) starts.Maybe Kerry's campaign slogan can be, " A vote for Kerry will be your last"

And on that note I respectfully bow out of this debate. This is why I hate politics and politicians.

An officer in the military is obligated to serve a certain # of years. They do not have to serve them in active service.

What I read in his records is his pre-comisioning evals - his evals upon graduation and the things he did for training. By the way if the man is so fantastic:D then why did he finish 80 of 536 in his class?

After his training he was assigned a command then he asked to go to Nam.
For a navy person in Nam the fast boats are one of the safest places to be.
The bases they stayed at were generally speaking on safer ground than any other base. At the time he was over there the Vietnamiese did not have the boats or the means to lay traps for these boats. Mostly our fast boats were shot up durring a rescue of troops not on regular river runs.

Shortly after leaving Nam He was granted permission to go to the inactive reserve were he was required to do nothing accept become active again if requested. He did not become active and was removed from inactive service at the end of his time.

It is all there if you know how to read the records. If you do not beleve me find a military post and have them read them to you.

Not trying to be a s**** **s but if you dont know how to read them then you can easily get mixed up in all the bull that is put in.
I did 20 years in the navy.

Get it right

Guess what, you have met your match. I spent 4 years in the Great United States Army. While I commanded my primary of 55D for those of you that do not know this (Explosive Ordinence Specialist) I spent most of my 4 years as a 75D. Of course this was my secondary but I spent 3 out of the 4 working as a 75D (Personell Records Specialist). So when ya talking on how to read records (Military) I got ya there. Maybe, just Maybe, I might be able to teach you how to read um.

While your were seaching through Kerry records, did you by chance take a read at the only 6 documents that Bush served ? How many did Kerry have ? What 35 or 40 ? I lost count.

Stan, I understand what you are saying. It's also nice to see that this isn't getting out of control and we are all communicating here.

Einstein was a genius, but no way could he have lead a country. My point is that Bush may not have finished first in his class. He may not have even been in the top 50 percentile, but he's made it to the Presidency of the United States, and when we were attacked that man was faced with a major problem, (aside from the already crashing economy) and some major decisions to make to best protect OUR Country from another terrorist attack. I think he took on a huge ordeal here and he acted on it. He over-stepped the UN and I feel, he had to act and act quickly. We can't lay down. We couldn't spend the next 5 years trying to figure out who, what, why, when and what's next. We as a country had to do something and Bush as the leader of our Country did what leaders do, not what geniuses do, he pulled the trigger when he needed to. He didn't negotiate, he didn't procrastinate, and he didn't need anyone's permission, he lead the Country to war. A war that's been going on for a long time.

Since that time he's been up against probably some of the toughest decisions of all. The beheading of Nick Berg... it's a tragedy. I had the liberty of watching the entire uncut version as I think every American adult should. This shows the kind of militant groups we are dealing with. Saddam is no better and you all know that.... But, with the beheadings and the pressure from the press and all the bad mouthing and tears that have been shed over this incident, Bush has stood his ground and is continuing the fight for freedom. What he did in 1978... Hell I could care less. I'm not the same person now as I was 10 years ago and neither are you.

The fact is, we are facing something larger than we've ever faced before as a country with some very bad enemies that want to take away our freedom and do great harm to our nation through a religious beliefs. They aren't going to stop. If we stop, they win and will continue to cripple our Country. I don't think Bush is stopping and we need to support our leader. Whether we like him, his past, or whatever, he needs the support of the American Citizens now more than ever.

I also agree with Squirt. I think a change in presidendcy during this time of war will be catastrophic. The war is far from over Grant. It's going to take years and if anyone believes for one moment that John Kerry is going to step in and step up, is sadly mistaking.

Once again, I'm no polititian. I never rarely watch tv. I also don't want to get technical about all this crap. We were struck and struck hard and we struck back and much harder. That's America and I thank God we had an idiot like Bush there to actually get the job done and continually to fight.

There, that's really all I can say about it.

Honestly, for all you die hard Republicans....What has George W. Bush done for domestic policy in the last 4 years. As a matter of fact....What did his daddy do for domestic policy while he was in office. Basically with these two, domestic policy went by the way side. They let corporate influence determine their domestic policy which was do nothing.

What would you like Bush to have done regarding domestic policy? Specifically?

One Call Power said:
If Iraq was not an immediate threat to the United States ? Why are we there ? Why did 900 plus family members have to loose their lives in a war that had no bearing on the safety of the United States ?

The available intelligence at the time indicated that Iraq was a threat, and was becoming more a threat every day. You say it had no bearing on the safety of the US, but all the evidence and intelligence indicates that Saddam DID have ties to terrorists. Did he fund or have a direct hand in 9/11...It is possible he didn't. Did he have his hands in the activities of terrorists..yes.

One Call Power said:
Do you know a Teacher ? Do you know that Bush lied about "NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND" ? Did you know that Bush vetoed adding 100,000 additional police officers to our safety. Do you know that we are more hated in the world today then ever before ?

How many children have been "left behind" (whatever that means). Do we really NEED another 100,000 cops? Who are we hated by in the world, and why? Being hated is not necessarily a bad thing, depending on who you're hated by and why. Sounds to me like you took good notes during the movie and basically took everything Mr. Moore said as the gospel.

One Call Power said:
Bottom line and all you die hard Republicans know it, Both Bush foriegn policy and domestic policy has failed.

How has the current administration's foreign and domestic policy failed. Specifically.

One Call Power said:
We are in more danger today then ever before.

How so? Please explain, specifically, how we are in more danger today.

One Call Power said:
So when you go to the polls, and stand proud for George Bush....Remember, you are promoting harm to our soldiers, you are slapping our children in the face and I only hope you never need a police officer. Oh and last but not least, I hope you never have to travel to another country and if you do, I hope and pray you are never taken hostage....because of Bush arrogance

How is voting Bush promoting harm to our soldiers? Every leader who sends troops into harms way does so knowing that some won't come home. That's the price of freedom, and of security. I suppose that in your view we should just sit here and wait for them to come to us. Maybe after a few thousand, or a few hundred thousand die in another attack, you'll agree we need to be proactive in our dealing with terrorists. Then again, maybe no. Some never can get past their narrow political view and see things for what they really are.

As far as needing a cop, we have plenty.

Hostages aren't taken because of anyone's arrogance. They are taken to achieve a goal through terror. Hostages have been taken long before Bush was elected (do you also think he was "selected"?), and long before we took any action in the middle east.

Is Bush perfect? Of course not. Have all his decisions been the the wisest, in retrospect? Of course not. Is he essentially an honest man who is doing the best he can with the tools he has to work with to look out for America's best interests? I believe so. The left (you included, apparently) has been talking about all the lies Bush has told for the past year or more, but have yet to show where Bush lied even once. It is nothing but propoganda by the Bush haters.

Yeah, a true patriot who was so outspoken AGAINST the war until using his military service was of political benefit to him.

Whether a man served in Vietnam in his 20s has little relevance to whether he'd make a good leader in his 50s or 60s. I really don't care where Bush or Kerry spent Vietnam.

Grant the first flat to be fixed is for a law to stop allowing businesses to OUTSOURCH jobs to India and other nations.

That is one of the real reasons so many are out of work, their job went to someone willing to work for pennies a day.

Your bank records.
your medical records.
Your personal information.
Everything about you for that matter is read by strangers from other countries that have NO assurances it will not be used to hurt you in some way or another.

And to add salt to the wound, even States and the Federal Government is OUTSOURCHING now too.

Oh then we can afford to feed and clothe those in other nations but cannot afford to do the same for OUR COUNTRY.

GO figure which flat needs fixing, I think all 5 of them, four on the ground and the spare.

Jon!

Welcome back buddy! How you and Remy doing?

How is the book biz?

Grant-look at the date!!!

I am not sure Jon is doing all that well-Last time I spoke with him his outlook was not that good-hope for the best.

It was a flashback...The thread came up as new..someone must have voted and then I saw Jons name

I believe that the term that is served in our government is way to long. Clean house and lets have a do over. I know that if i had a job to do and i sucked at it, i would be gone in a N.Y minute!!

Big buisness has run this country since the great depression of the 30's. It doesen't matter what puppet get's elected, it only matters how much money is given to these elected fools by these huge companies that drive our economy. Look at fuel prices, there is no shortage of fuel only greed buy the fuel mongers.

Bottom line, we as little people paying taxes so that we can give free health care to illegal immigrants, and prison inmates, while we have homeless veterans living in cardboard boxes, and our elderly citizens eating dog food so that they can afford thier prescriptions. Yeah your dam straight i think we need to clean house and start over!! my 2 cents, after taxes..
