What's the best foamage???

Here is something to try: PRO-FORCE OVEN GRILL AND FRYER CLEANER that foams. It comes from Sam's Club (probably available Sams in PR) and is made by ECO-Lab.

The freakin stuff come with a foamer sprayer and spurts a NICE wet foam. Add caustic to it and run it thru your FOAM-it 5 and it'll amaze and confound you. It contains butyl and sodium metasilicate and is about $7.00 a gallon. Sam's doesn't carry Dawn around here.

Anthony, I noticed you said that you heard this works. Better solution? care to share what surfactant you use? Looked at the Delco stuff......a bit on the pricey side, has anyone ever tried it?

I have used Dawn and it worked great, but I regularly use Morgan Gallacher's foaming agent...the link is here.

Thanx for the info again Anthony, you've been a huge help already. I've put a call into the company you just refrenced, of course I'm on eastern time here so they probably aren't even awake yet there. Do you buy it by the gallon or by the drum? What do you pay for it if you don't mind me asking. I have checked with Delco on prices for their stuff and it seem a bit on the high side. If these guys have just a good of stuff at a more resonable rate I would like to test them out.

hmmm I know that oven cleaner is very very harsh on the lungs, and so is SH. Mixing them together...wow...is that not too caustic? I dont have a Sam's club by me. And it is not sold at Cosco's or Bj's. Because this stuff foams on its own, do you not use a foaming agent?

I would be weary of anything that is similar to oven off in my experience. I like to use oven cleaner on tough carbon spots but you can't leave it on too long, as it will eventually eat away at the s/s finish. I have had that happen to me a couple of times when I left it on there too long. I always have to be careful when I'm using anything similar to that stuff

Natasha,

This PRO-Force stuff is a foaming agent and can be used with the FI-5. It doesn't have Sodium or potassium hydroxide AKA THE caustics. It contains Sodium metasilicate (check the attached link in the post for the MSDS sheet) which is a "milder" form of caustic. By mixing this stuff (1/2 gallon) into your 5 gals NAOH or KOH chem you now have a foam additive which acts similar to DAWN (not available at my local SAMS Club) but is more potent. BTW, all these chems we use are harmful to lungs, DO NOT BREATHE THEM or use them without mask and personal safety gear!

Chad,

Per the instructions on the jugs, this stuff is even safe to use on aluminum and won't discolor it. This Pro-force as is, is great for removing the brown stains from pizza hoods. Check the MSDS sheet.

Chad...you'll want to speak to Scot von Luft at Morgan Gallacher...it comes in 5 gallon buckets for about $33 dollars + shipping of course. They have 2 different ones: One with caustic in it and one without...I get the one without and add my own.

Jones: good info bro...thanks, I'm gonna check that out.

Thanks Anthony, I've got a call into him......he was in a meeting

Chad,

The stuff is about $35.00 for 5 gallons, but the shipping to Fl will cost $150.00. That's why Matt suggests get it closer to your home. If you buy 55 gals it should cut down on the shippage costs.

Indi is right on the money there. This is why I use the welfare foaming agent. Unfortunatley there is no supplier "closer to home".

Indy, you be foamin bro? That is sweet!! We have started a foam revolution baby (if you do chinise places its a foam revorution!!!)

I would love to put a video together of all you guys that foam. If everyone can send me a video of them foaming I can put together something sweet. Just use the video option on your digital cameras, you dont need sound.
