Hey everyone,
Just found this board a couple of weeks ago. Its so nice to see I'm not the only grease blower out here, finally.....a place where we can all talk.
I'm currently using a caustic chemical that aims to eat away at animal fat (i.e. hamburger hoods and such). We order a 55 gal drum and mix ourselves. I have 280 and 400 gallon tanks. I'm just going through it too quickly now. As always, and after reading the posts here I see that I'm not the only one that hates the chinese grease (my chemical doesn't do anything on it).
After reading some of the posts and viewing the video's I think that fearing the foam is going to be the way to go. I currently have a chemical company I'm working with to find a strong enough mix for this to work. I think I have found it (and so far it works pretty good on chinese too).
I have two trucks that run right now and I am about to put a third on the road. The first two trailers have single burner units with p/w, a single chem. line and pressure line. Third trailer I have setup with dual units with dual lines. We average on the low side 6 jobs a day with the two trucks, and looking to do even more the the new dual setup I will have going shortly.
Now I have questions:
1. How far can you push foam through a chemical line with a compressor and foamer? I currently use flo-jet pumps attached to 250' of line and it works great as high as 3 or 4 story buildings, can the foamers do this? I would like to keep the compressor mounted on the trailer and just pull in/up the chemical line, not having to take the whole cart and foamer with me.
2. How much do you all pay? With the mix I will be using, the max I can go is 8:1 (water:chemical) with a gallon jug running in the neighborhood of $7-$7.50/gallon, can i make it myself cheaper? I like buying by the drum not the gallon.
3. (off the subject) I noticed a lot of you all have enclosed trailers, you have the burners mounted in the trailers too? How do you keep from smokin out your trailer not to mention getting desiel sut all over the trailer? I would love to run enclosed but found (the hard way) that the burners need enough air flow to them to keep from sutting up. So not fun cleaning those coils!
I would greatly appreciate everyones input on this..........I haven't found any answers searching all the other posts here. Thanks all
