Tuff, I had a very difficult client. but we worked it out.
San Francisco is very...... well, San Franciscan. a little tooo liberal for my taste. We had allot of politics going on here. Something I am not a custom to.
And though we was going to attempt to fit the trailer thought this VERY tight fit, Upper management stopped us saying that it was too bid to enter the garage. So I had to get our sub contractors rig inside while mine ran from the curb to do any oil stains. It would of been great... I had the camera rolling folks. This was going to be a first, however I do understand the reasoning behind management decision for us not to proceed. If for some reason we did get stuck, I really do not know how we would off been able to get it out.
However, we do have another garage scheduled in a few months. 600,000+ sq ft. should take us about 7 to 9 working days to complete. This one has more than one exit and entrance. the problem here is the ramps are very narrow. I WILL be able to film this garage.
600k x .24 = $144k
3 garages in 5 months = 7 garages per year - One big one and 6 average 100k garages (that's what he told me in 2009) - $288k/yr (He said it, look it up)
6 garages x 5000 for chems - $30k. (He said it, look it up)
$2k in hoses every 3 garages = $5k (he said it, look it up)
Replace filter (as he said) annually -$5k (He said it, look it up)
Subcontracting - (if he pays the same 25% he tried to pay Chris - $72,000)
Fuel - Guessing - 18 days x two units x $100 = $3600
Total Expenses excluding boats to ballgames, advertising, and office expenses = $115,600
Total gross profit - $172,400 - assuming he does actually make 24 cents a foot (which he doesn't, he told me lucky to get 18 cents)
No wonder he still pays his taxes only on April 15th instead of quarterly. (He said it, look it up)
No wonder he just paid over 5 digits on income taxes for the first time a couple of years ago. (He said it, look it up)
No wonder he couldn't afford to come to any roundtables.
Here he says he can do 75,000 square feet a day, now it's over 100,000 an hour (look it up)
Folks, none of this would matter one iota if Jim would live inside the skin he is in. But when he has to talk down to every other guy who is out there trying to make a living, putting down guys who do $100 dollar jobs and putting down guys who do regular route work on a monthly basis instead of trying to hit a home run on every job he opens himself up to this kind of scrutiny.
What amazes me is that the PWNA would spend money and time and the efforts of their Executive director to go to Phoenix and sit in a rental car like Magnum PI to try to find some reason to claim that Ron is not making any money. Even going so far as to sit in a hotel room calling his competitors to try to find out accurate information (Even Magnum knows that's a stupid way to find accurate information). Ron has done nothing but give to this industry. He has given more actual dollars out of his own pocket than all the PwNA members combined towards the betterment of this industry and to bring us all together as friends. Not to mention all the time that was spent.
Yet, they take this guy, Jim, the self proclaimed "Garage Doctor" (because no one else would proclaim it), who can't post in a thread without some kind of exaggeration or flat out lie, and make him their Environmental Co-chair. If he can't make a thread without lying to us how much of the information he tells the regulators is going to be the truth.
Think about that.
I've finally been able to get the entire story about Jim out and Robert has finally shown his true colors.
What's funny about that is the PWNA has helped me. I told Ron a long time ago, when Jim was first named Environmental Co-Chair, that now their entire program needs to be discredited or the combination of Jim and Robert, (Robert, Retired - and Jim, with little work and a sponsor for his travel) could do a lot of damage if the contractors don't know how corrupt what they are trying to do is.
It was my goal to keep Jim there as a Co-chair. So I had to post attacks on him left and right, knowing that the BOD of the PWNA hates me and Ron so much they would clutch on to him like an old woman clutches her purse in a dark alley just to keep from getting rid of him at my request.
It worked well. He is still here, and so is Robert. And they have given us the time and the opportunity to show exactly how fast and loose they play with the truth and how well they can be trusted to represent us. Just like John said earlier. Robert is not our advocate.
That is simply what I've been trying to say all along.
Now, let's leave those two guys behind to revel in their self adulation and move on to allow this industry to grow.
