Using 90 Degree fittings on Pump?

Yeah I put a good filter at the inlet of the tank with a bulb-screen on the pump inlet hose. I believe that in suction the filter causes 'drag', even a clean filter - just my theory.

Y trap filters are also a better choice they have less flow restriction as they do not have a 90 in them like the standard filters do. They are designed for the water to flow straight through and the debris to drop out into the screen. 90 degree elbows create restriction as there is turbulence created in the elbow as the water changes direction that effects flow. I believe that each 90 elbow is the equivalent of 10' of hose in restriction. Larger sizes reduce the restriction though.

I thought I read somewhere if you were dual feeding, you wanted two separate lines each from its own bulkhead.
