Upgrading pump

I just bought a new Pressure Pro washer. It has a Honda GX390 13 hp motor with 4000 psi with a Cat pump pushing 4gpm (go ahead and laugh at me). I bought it cause it was a good deal with a 18" GP surface cleaner thrown in for free. Im about to buy a Northstar heater to convert it to a hot pw'er

I do commercial work and the jobs Ive done so far I havent had a problem with the 4gpm but just seeing what Id need to do to get more gpm. I know I can change the pump out but how big can I go with my 13hp motor? Id rather not change the motor just the pump but not sure where to start. Any help?

Zac, you could get a 5 gpm pump and run it at 2500 psi. If you tell me what size pulleys you've got, I can recommend an AR, General, Udor, Legacy, or Comet for you

Im doing front entrance ways and sidewalks and they arent that bad. Im sure ill get into worse and I go on (dumpster pads, etc) thats why Im considering upgrading the pump now.

Im new to all this..where can I find the size of my pulleys? is 2500 psi the max if I upgrade the pump? Id like to keep it above 3000 psi

I would do a dumpster pad with cold water before a front entrance way or sidewalk. How are you getting gum up with cold water?

Havent ran into any yet. Im using a degreaer thats similar to SFD so thats helping me out tons Id say. Only reason I bought a cold water unit and adding a heater was to save money. I get great discounts locally and the cold water unit and adding the heater was about 2k cheaper then just buying a hot water unit.

Link two pressure washers together and you be with the big boys. Just makes you go faster and wish you did it years ago. 8gallons 4000psi

Russ can help you out

LOL. I dont know what sidewalks and entrance ways your cleaning in Knoxville then. Almost everyone I see has LOTS of gum.

Whats SFD?

Chad your in knox..do you use caustic? or know where to buy it locally?

Zac, I think Chad feels you have stepped on his toes. lol
You came to the right guy to ask. Russ will not lead you wrong. You will not be able to keep 3000psi unless you stay at 4 gpm. 5.5 at 2500psi will be fine for what you are doing.

HAHA now I gotta watch my back when working to see if Chad is sneaking up on me...yea right Im sure he has enough big accounts to where hes not worried about me

so 1.5 gpm will make big enough difference for me to upgrade the pump?

On the contrary. Upgrade. The extra 1.5 gpm will way compensate for the loss of a little bit of pressure. Chad is a good guy. You should meet up with him. Maybe he will tell you who he got his first turbo nozzle from.

I'm getting ready to link 2 pressure washers together myself. One is a 5.5 GPM at 3500 PSI and the other is a 5 GPM at 4000 PSI.

I just have to move water tanks around to make room on my trailer for the 2nd unit. That is my project once the rain comes and goes here.

The guy who gave me my first turbo nozzle. Talk about stepping on toes.......LOL only kidding, you know I love ya William!
I still have it. Put it in a case. Ive upgraded since then.
