Uniforms?

Do you or your employees wear some kind of a uniform with the company name or logo?

Many folks forget the uniform is what we were to different functions. You would not wear the same uniform to estimate a project or attend a professional function as you would to work in the field, would you? This is what seperates the men from the boys. Thank You.

thanks anthony :)

Its real easy go to a silkscreener get your logo done on word burn it to a disk then get a hold of the patchmaker order name and company/logo patches then go to wally world and pick up black dickies shirts and pants. They wash out real easy and are kinda waterproof at first. Oh and when they get wet they dry out pretty fast as well. they also make dickies shorts that they sell in the summer. You should be able to get a dirt siut at the hardware store so as not to show up real nasty at the next job

Agreed. We have white logo'd shirts for cleaning, And navy blue logo'd polos for estimates (and golfing of course). And we wear black weather/bleach proof nylon pants. It looks sharp with the white shirts and black pants. And we stay clean.

I got T-shirts , but i get them all stained and stuff.....I would like to get some custom rain gear with a logo imprinted, and also i would like to wear buttom up blue oxfords and take myself outta the field, or should i say pass the gun, so i can spend 8 hours building the business!

My sister hooks me up.
She has a state of the art computerized embroidery rig and a silkscreen setup.

These are the best work clothes I have ever worn, besides my Carhart bib overalls. Very resistant to bleach, and very well made.

I am getting t-shirts to work in...up till now it has been blue polos with my logo embroidered on the front. I do estimates in a buttonup blue shirt with my logo embroidered on the front. i wear khakis while doing estimates. Looking into something cooler to work in rather than the jeans i have been wearing.

Have shrits made that are a nylon... Military spec under armor shirs are cool, they breath and can't be bleached.... We just ordered 6 of these shrits at $25 a piece. They will have a before and after on the back with website number and company name with our company name and logo on the front!

yes we always wear uniforms - I always want to look profesional on my customers property - clean uniforms and clean trucks!!!

I dont know.................Ive read a book and seen pictures from a guy that says that has nothing to do with anything.

I have had customers that chose me because I have a decent looking clean truck and wear a uniform of sorts. He remember me as the guy in the yellow shirt and brown rubber boots when I worked some other homes in his neighborhood..

We wear the 50/50 blend t's and 65/35 work shirts. They stand up to bleach and grease much better. Even dark colored shirts dont fade from bleach. We have used http://www.usedworkclothing.com/ for used work cloths. The shirts still have labels on them as they are returned from uniform companies. The price is definitely right. New shirts we get from www.outletshirts.com they have killer prices on T's and Workshirts. 12.24 each for longsleeve industrial shirts is a deal.

We use uniforms we've rented for a few years. I have a few silk....woohoo..:) shirts like the blue one in the picture with my daughter. We also have Tshirts for dirty work and temp guys when we need them.

BUT...I've done sales calls in suits...dress shirts with logo....polo's with logo....silk casual shirts with logo...and the Uniform.

WITHOUT FAIL the uniform gets me to the right person many times more often than any of the other clothing.

I've tried everything. When you are wearing anything other than a uniform, they know you are a salesman right off the bat and you get the salesman treatment.

I now walk in, ask for the owner or maintenance supervisor, then look around as if I'm in a hurry. I don't chit chat with the receptionist. Most often they will get the owner because they think you are there to fix something.

After I've spoken to the owner on my way out I try to say something nice to the receptionist, because after you've met your goal of speaking to the target, that is the time to make relationships.

I'm definately no expert, but I've been going into businesses and selling myself for 10 years now and this is what seems to work. By the way, it took me nine years to realize that.

you would think with this being a physical job, we would all be twiggs

I have the logo'd t-shirts and the t-shirt material polo's from Queensboro (which I can't stand those polo shirts, not the knit type like I asked for and they told me that they were the knit type) but I will order locally for more T-shirts and polo's so I have more of them.

The ash gray 50/50 t-shirts have held up very good to the bleach and dirty jobs but the 50/50 blue t-shirts still get some bleach stains so on days that I use the bleach, use the gray shirts.

Time to order more shirts.
