Nice .... How did they get the fire footage... You should see some of the crap we are expected to inspect in Mississippi.. I got a call from a hospital last week and they needed the fire systems inspected .. I walked in the kitchen to find 4 - HDR50 Kiddie systems .. Last inspected in 1999. I decided to look behind the filters..Each of the four hoods had 1 link in the duct opening.. They were globe M type 450 degree and dated 1997.I started to hang red tags on all because of a bunch of factors ( I mean a bunch) but the main one was in one hood I removed a kiddie nozzle and the pipe was packed with powder so I continued to Red Tag.. The maintenance guy walks in... I did my Pyro-Chem sales pitch for about an hour , we sat down and discussed the options.. I was then told it was not in the budget at this time and they would call me.. He then asked for the old tags back and asked me to remove the red tags.... Man this is crazy.

i had an answer for that but i dont want anyone to take it seriously so we can all just use our vivid imaginations:eek:
 
Sometimes the mind just boggles doesn't it. If that hospital receives Federal money (you know, like from your taxes) there is joint Accredication of Health Care Orginizations. It is a Federal agency which is charged w/inspections of hospitals. One of the inspections of life & safety issues. You could contact them and express your concerns, annonanmously of course.

That said, we deal w/one hospital where we take care of the extinguisher recharge, the kitchen hood and fire system and the MRI halon system. They do there own sprinkler work, extinguisher inspection, alarm inspection. They acually do the work properly and allow us to make a profit. the other 7 hospitals in our area are interested only in how cheap. I personally know of serious manitenance defiencies at 5 of the hospitals which will not be addressed because they are interested in the cost only, not the quaility of the service. I will not comprimise the quality of our work, so we do not work in those hospitals.
