The Master Mind Principle - Think and Grow Rich

Thanks for the video DJ. I always heard of this book, but never read. I guess I better get a hold of a copy and expand my reality.

I will email you a copy Jason, I have it in PDF format

Be careful of following the teachings of Hill. He was deeply involved in the occult, freemasonary and was a companion of Clement Stone, another evil man. While making money is a necessity, it should not be the sole purpose of your being.
That is a curious statement. W. Clement Stone was noted for his philanthropy and said that the Bible as the greatest self help book ever written. I would be interested to know the basis of this claim.
Interestingly, both Norman Vincent Peale and John Maxwell both lauded Hill and Stone for the positive influence they were.

You nailed it Scott. The Bible is not a self help book. Read up on the new age movement. Stone actually spoke to at Schullers cathedral castle. If that wasn't a den of iniquity there never has been one. It is sad to see young people like DJ so far away from good moral up bringing when they just don't know any better.

Everyone has different values and priorities in life. The Bible is right when it says "Whatever a man is sowing, this he will also reap". It applies in nature and it applies in human attitudes and interactions and in work ethic. Self-help fads change with the wind. The Bible never changes, because it's solid as a rock. I'd say it's an unequaled self-help book when the reader is honest and humble.

The Bible is full of gems of wisdom. It's easy for some to justify wrongdoings by using the actions of a Biblical character as an example. But you have to delve deeper to reveal what the consequences of those actions were first. Biblical characters didn't always make the right decisions.

I still have questions about the actions of "The Shrewd Manager"

So, you are saying that the Bible does not give you guidance on the things you should do, or how you should act, to improve your life? No guidance, or leadership by example?

You are not following me. That is the polar opposite of what I am saying. The Bible is the ultimate guide and God's words for us to follow. It is not, however, a self-help book. Man cannot help himself. Stone, and others like him promote the idea that it is within our ownself to be a better person. That is not true. We cannot change ourselves. God can change us. Self help is and new age thinking is a direct contradiction to the Bible.

God can do all, but, I think that if we make an effort to follow the commandments and counsels of the Bible, we are at the same time, allowing God to help us, and helping ourselves. You are treating it as something that is mutually exclusive. I don't believe that. I think that we were given commandments for a purpose, and that by following them, we are improving our lives, and allowing God into our lives to help us.

The Bible is the only book that I would use to for help. It is not, however, a self help book. That is the problem. Man thinks he can help himself. He cannot. Stone, and others like him, that advocate this are no better or worse than false prophets from Biblical days.
True, the thing with the Bible is you can't pick and choose what is worth it and what isn't like in a grocery store. It isn't self-help in that sense, anyway.
