Super Rigs!!!!!!!!

Scott Karvonen (Squirtgun) is the default "go-to" guy for all flatwork questions. Call him anytime (the later the better, he's a night owl) for help in caustic mixes, techniques, detailed bids for specific jobs, etc.

He's a really nice guy and loves to help anyone out.

Yes I am a might owl. You'll be getting your call about 3am.

Nice guy? That offends me

Well I am just like the Average pressurewashing contractor, just on a bigger scale!!!!!!! And I think its crazy that someone thinks that they are so much better than everyone!!!!!! Further more I will make that little thing he calls a COSTOM TRAILER look like something from the stone age!!!! But Im here for the average guy just like me!!!! Mine is all average, just alot more of it!!!!!!!

Wet Foot,

Do you have any video of your work during a cleaning? Like a before, during and after video...not pictures. Would like to see your rig on a bigger scale while in use.

hey bradley

If you post your question about caustic as a new thread or under the 'chemistry forum' you might get more responses from others who have used it.

... sometimes 'cross-posts' get lost under the original thread title.

Wish I could tell you more about caustic - one of the KEC guys recommended a product from ZEP - R12776, I have not
used it yet. But he said it is ready-mixed and a good starting point.

Russ has posted a lot on caustic use... maybe search through some of his posts.

I would recommend starting a new thread though, you will probably get more help.

If by ready mixed, you mean it has surfactants mixed with the powder, yes. It is still a caustic powder though, and still has to be mixed like SH flakes.

I used R-12776 on some concrete last night, I will post the pics later.

chris

I think you told me about this product? ... apologies, my memory is BAD~~

... look forward to seeing your pics!

Here is a pic of the R-12776 in action. It was only allowed to sit for a few minutes. As you can tell, it broke down the grease VERY well.

hey chris

good before and after!

Thanks!

What specs of machine are you using... does the product from ZEP do a lot of the work for you?

I clean the walkway at the back entrance of many of my restaurants, while I am there, to prevent tracking in that mess and spending forever mopping. Since I had my little electric PW with me last night, that is what I used. It is about 2GPM @ 1500PSI, and no it is not a heated PW. In all honesty, I could have probably rinsed that area with a garden hose, so yes the R-12776 does a lot of the work for me. I also use the R-12776 for KEC too.

Nice work Bunn  did you put your skirt on when you did that work:p dh

No, because I was there to clean the exhaust system. I only cleaned the concrete to avoid tracking in all that grease, and having a bigger mess to mop up. If I were cleaning any more concrete than that, I would have worn the appropriate uniform...yes, I have one, Scott sent it to me.:p

Brad:

I tried it yesterday. Fantastic machine as far as I can tell. The company is trying to sell it to me. My only concern is that it only has 2500 PSI. Any thoughts on this? Thanks, Dave - Charleston SC

2500 psi is more of a glorified rinse than cleaning. Depends on what type of cleaning you want to do. For example: 2500 at 10 gpm is good for big tractor wash down or Building wash down. Those type of washing need more water than pressure.

Down side: If you are in a state that cares about run off, you need to filter all of that water. SOMETIMES, more water means more work at the filtration part of your business.

My 2 cents: Lower the GPM's and raise the PSI and heat, that is if you plan on doing flat work. If you are going to do truck washing, tractor washing or big heavy equipment or a major rinse down of something, then 10 gpm+ would be my first choice. lol
