Should We Close the UAMCC BBS for Good?

If you had a choice above to shut down the UAMCC bb until your ready to bring in members I would have voted for that one.. Beth wants to close it for a couple of days because of the holidays. How about shutting it down longer.. Until at least February so you Ron and the new Board can get some work done with the UAMCC such as maybe giving the org a whole new facelift, a new set of Bylaws amendments, some kind of structure in place first before it opens back up.
The more I read about non profits the more I agree with Jeff L.s assessment a couple of months ago to shut it all down. Since you guys really wanted to do a non profit org.. Starting up a new one might have been an easier route. I know it's not as easy as that but the one thing is you wouldn't have been burden with some of the big killers of these things such as trust issues and all the baggage that comes along with something that failed.
Some of us are having a tough time letting go.... But do your due diligence and start reading about non profits.. The more you read the more disgusted you can get because of what happened.. Forget the blame. There's enough of that to pass around... But that's all baggage.
There is somewhere that says you can take the non profit funds and roll it into a similiar non profit... Its overwhelming to try and come back that the more I read about 501c's the easier it looks to just start another one up if you don't believe in the ones out there...
But since that's not what some wanted to do... Then make it easier on yourselves and shut the UAMCC bb until your ready for business.

PWI & TGS have always been my favorites after Delco's bb no longer dominated the net.
When you pretty much left PWI for like a 2-3 yr span to coach baseball years ago this bb almost came to a screeching halt. The server was slow, people started losing interest and the excitement was gone.. I remember you saying you would give it away for a buck to someone who would admin it. This was back In the days Ron when we probably were closer friends. You asked me to admin here at one time in the Michael Hughes days... Wasn't interested because mainly lack of PC skills.
But you showed that these bb's are only as good as someone who cares about them that owns them and there participation and because of that the mods who now get involved and the members who now post.

The PWNA went that route also... Paul's idea was the same argument I made back when the PWNA gave up on the bulletin boards... It's the unpopular vote usually because of time management needed but it seems worth it if done right but I was obviously over ruled on that one before.
You'll get that vote eventually when you get in if the UAMCC bb doesn't run like what Paul is suggesting.
John I don't do anything here but cause trouble like you. The good people who run this I will take nothing away from them. PWI ran while I was gone, the reason it almost died was because it fell into one mans hands. Today five admins take care of the bbs.

Lets see, when I started the orginial forum here and admin the first PWNA bbs it was the best maybe that ever existed.

You know Ron I don't really recall you doing the admin with the PWNA bb. I know you helped out some like maybe along the lines like I did which was co-admin the UAMCC bb under the admin there. Michael Hinderliter started that bb and he had yrs of experience before anyone really did. Then Beth took over and that bb was rocking. Somewhere in there you helped out but I don't recall ever seeing your name listed there. Either way that bb was bound to fail because it took up way to much time.. The never would be members kept coming in to clock the memberships ets. That's what happens with the UAMCC bb and it's predestined to fail like that. I'm telling ya for an org bb it has to be done differently or you'll forever be fighting with the "never be members".
Do you remember non PWNA members forever coming onto PWNA's bb saying that they don't have to be members but the PWNA should represent them also and they should get votes as in a non member group but there votes should count.. Insanity...
ORGS represent there members and if there members want them to take a stand by taking the lead in the
Power washing industry then the org should do what the members want or the BOD's Would get voted out.
As for PWI you have an excellent staff but you go they will lose interest.. Your so driven here that you can post to yourself all day long..lol
As for deleting post... It's been done here before especially when someone came in here and put your head on an all male porn action picture ..lol. That post got wacked but you did let it slide for a few days.... Before it got axed. I know you remember that... Nothings perfect.
I know you love to say differently but you are "the man" at PWI.. don't sweat it.. You invented it... You could shut it down tomorrow if you wanted to.. But it's a ratings winner so it's not going anywhere...

I was on the PWNA web committee, Mike Hinderliter was in charge, you occasionally showed up on conference calls, but you missed a bunch too. Eventually Mike passed me the torch. He remained a moderator and was in the background, but not as active. THE BBS THRIVED. The rules were followed to the letter. We has almost 500 PWNA members and the bbs surpassed any other bbs out there in activity including PWI or TGS or any others. Period. When I left the BOD, I turned over all the controls, I explained how things worked to Mark Pfitzer in the ED's office for PWNA. THEN....Henry took over, with Matt, and others and from there BODs got involved. The rules were tossed aside, the BBS went into the toilet and was closed. IT WAS NOT IN THE TOILET ON MY WATCH! IT THRIVED!

I agree with Paul. Change it up, make it a conduit so Members can stay informed and network. A platform for Vendor Members to advertise. A learning tool without the drama that by the way happens on all the boards.

Beth I did start it but I really careless.
I also obtained all the banner authorization for the bbs.
I'm not sure if I ever made a call. Maybe that's why you where not aware I was co-admin with mike.
It's funny he doesn't remember either. I guess when people get old there memories go too.
This proves a point, peoples feeling get hurt and all bent out of shape.
I'm not going to run associations without journals. People should have journals, history on the websites documented. Award holders photos in a special place.
Past presidents photos do people know the history.
The uamcc bbs could be better, it could run way better than it has.
Beth , if you stayed on as admin of the Uamcc what would you do?

Is the problem with the bbs or the uamcc itself? If the organization is being re vamped it is the decision of the organization. A bbs is a powerfull tool to members using it.
So what your saying is the bod doesn't make that choice?
