Rusty Training, one man or NOT?

All of Rusty's graduates are doing very well. Ant, Josh, Alexy. Brian Penny is the new PWNA President. Sounds like it works.
 
I would say 80% of the jobs I do can be done safely and efficently by one man. I have employees now and there is no reason say a mcdonalds that is regularly serviced can not be done by one person and DONE VERY WELL in just about 2.5 hrs. i enjoy having a person to help out but for alot of what we do they can be done quickly and safely by one person. You just need to know your physical and safety limits as far as this job.
 
I think the only "Rusty" trained guy on the PWNA BOD is Brian Penney. But he is the President Elect, so I guess the value in his training can be deducted from that.

The training that Rusty provides is ABSOLUTELY INVALUABLE to any new company in our industry. The $8,000 fee is a mere pittance compared to what you can make in the first year after you take his school. If you are thinking about it don't, just do it.

Depends on who the one man is. There are many guys I wouldn't feel comfortable sending out alone. With the proper training, and/or experience, anyone with decent mechanical skills can work alone.
 
We may start you out as a 1 man operation, but as you grow your business, each business owner can run his business as he sees fit.

It a person wants to attend our training, and bring his crew leader along with him, we'll train both of them.

It's just been our experience that most new hood cleaners can't afford a large crew of people if they have no accounts from just starting.

We've trained over 150 folks so far over the years since I started HoodCleaningSchool.com 2001 with my Father in law Roger Gonzalez.

It has worked out very well for our students who have gone on to become very proficient at cleaning hoods and running successful business's on their own.

We offer an extremely detailed and involved course for a very reasonable amount of money.

For about what you'll earn in your first 10-20 jobs, you can have your own kitchen grease exhaust cleaning company.

We feel strongly that a new hood cleaner should actually be taken out in the field and shown exactly how to do this work, not just watch a video or clean a hood in a warehouse.

Others can claim that they do this, but ask any of our students what they thought of their training and you will hear a consistent theme of "I can go home and do this."

Then you throw in the fact that we offer a Certification for Kitchen Grease Exhaust Cleaners that is backed by real world training, and you've got something that our students can feel proud to obtain.

Then you add in our exclusive "Guaranteed Clients" program on top of our training, and you've got a situation where the average joe can quit his day job and start their own business as a professional hood cleaner.

You then link up these "newbies" with our more experienced hood cleaners through out network and they have 24/7 post training support and follow up as then need it.

Then to finish it off, we offer them a turn key set of equipment and training on that equipment so that from day one they can clean just about any kitchen that comes their way, and you have a very powerful combination for success.

We then set our students up with multiple streams of revenue through sales of the greasgutter.com system and access to having restaurant grease filters drop shipped to their customers from their computers without having to deliver them.

All in all, we offer the most comprehensive way for a person to start their own business, add hood cleaning to any pressure washing business or just do this part time to make extra money.

I speak with many people everyday who have attended our school and hear their success stories and how well that they are doing.

The guys that have done well going through Rusty's training are obviously doing well. Is that a result of the training or their natural drive to succeed?(hacks don't attend training schools) Probably a bit of both.. Rusty makes a good point about starting off and not having the budget for multi-man crews. The problem is, it works until something bad happens. Commercial work is done at night and often times in cold temperatures. Ladders ice over quickly. Been there, done that. I never could bring myself to send out one man crews. A crippling fall or one that could render the operator unconcious could go from recoverable accident to lethal tragedy. Its not worth the risk.
 
Tru, There have been 2 accidents on jobs and without someone else there the injury would have been much more severe.
 
Man, maybe I am missing the boat here ?
I have trained zillions of roof cleaners, both in person, and by telephone, Internet, Email, etc.
Never charged anyone a DIME either.
Oh, I take that back, I DID sell an old style pump we no longer use to a guy just starting out once for 1/3 my cost :(

Lets see, if we do the math at 8 grand each times 150 people, that ain't bad.

Shoot, for 8 grand I could train AND furnish a turn key Apple Dual Tank Dual Pump Vari Flow system and STILL make money !

Shoot, 8 grand my butt, price just went up to 15 grand. maybe more ?
Why ?

Because there are WAY more roofs needing cleaning then Kitchen exhausts.

There might be 50 restaurants in a small town, and 23, 000 houses.

Maybe I will offer "Apple Roof Cleaning Franchises" ??

Yes, maybe THIS is what I will do ?

I did not think there was a market for it, but my EYES have been opened :confused:

Oh Heck Yeah, PLUS they will even get a link on the worlds number one roof cleaning web site thrown in, assuring my students/franchisees of work.
