Roof Cleaning/Winter Garden, Florida

I try to set up the equipment to be as streamlined and as efficient as possible. In my opinion, more time spent on details of doing the best job possible and less time spent wrestling with equipment issues will provide maximum profit with less time wasted. Sounds like a no-brainer, but a lot of rigs are cluttered (tarps in my case) or not maintained to prevent failures in the field.

I put a 8 gpm cold unit inside the van since you were here and I added a 250' portable pw hose reel as well.

Other than the above-mentioned pwer, etc. there's nothing special about the inside of the van. I store surface cleaners, 5ers, etc. in it, but there's no shelving or anything, just a rubber floor mat and all the little goodies like tool boxes etc.

We are "recycling" our trailer for a roof only rig, doesn't look as good as Don's.

Do you have one of those mesh bulkheads in there?

As far as clutter goes, I have 20" of enclosed trailer to keep stuff in, and I still sometimes have to climb!

I have a hard time not trying to take the whole shop with me everywhere I go.

Pretty is, as pretty does David :)
Most of my trucks started OUT "looking pretty", LOL
But the rigors of cleaning 15 to sometimes 20 roofs a week often take their toll :(
Plenty of Pretty rigs for sale on Ebay that did not do enough work to support their owners.

I wish i had a picture of my old Box Truck, after 5 years of work ?

It once was pretty, as my new F 450 will be.
Wraps look great!

I worry about the long term effects of the mix on them, and what they will do to the paint IF you have to remove them ?

But for LOOKS, IMHO they cant be beat :D

I notice you also used a good sized sign :)
I strongly believe in lettering in big letters, for max visibility.

I did it on my first roof cleaning truck, and will do it on the two new roof cleaning trucks we have coming on line.

HEY, wonder if you can wrap the tanks ;)

My Isuzu is tired, made her a backup truck, bought a Mitsubishi Fuso, and a Ford F 450.
This is the F 450, she isn't done yet.
Getting a Programmer for it, and some other tricks for the Diesel.
Maybe I should straight pipe it, LOL
Have the worlds noisiest roof cleaning truck :D
It has a tricked out Turbo on it, and I LOVE the Torque.

We do a considerable amount of driving on the Interstate, and the Isuzu with 600 plus gallons of mix was straining.

NOT the F 450, that thing will run 90 all day, and laugh :D

Hi Don,

If we're doing something larger like apartments, we fill one tank full of SH then open the ball valve once arriving at the job site and let them each level off at 1/2 full each then fill them with water and add surfactant. After the 1st building or 2, we add more water and that's enough to spray all day, keeping in mind that 'all day' at an apartment complex means roughly from 9:30 to 4:00. Gotta get out of there before all the residents start rolling back in from work. By then the tanks are usually almost empty anyway.

may i ask what pumps do you use? i'm working on a set-up like yours right now with a hydro roller pump.

SS=Stainless Steel QC on the hose end.

Sorry about that. Our Super Swivel lasts about 1 year before we need to replace them. Other than that stainless, we removed the qc on the hose because of the leaking ( all over me ). I am so used to the chemicals, I hardly realize its on me, I only notice that I am wet.

Hansen brand stainless.
 
Our local guy here sells the Udor brand with Comet. We have had the MC-16, we now have the Zeta 40.
All good pumps, all that matters is getting the job done. The zeta does 10 gpm, bypassing most. It is nice to have the power to shoot when need.
Never saw a JB. Maybe one day. Zeta works for me. ( for now ) :)
