Remote DS Unit

The plunger in the Dema 481P just tore away. I rinse thoroughly and also use a filter on the intake. Just didn't last. The stock ones are EPDM. Where do you get your Dema valves and at what cost are they? I assume the plungers are from the same supplier. Please put up a link for others to see so we can make better decisions on products.

Steven,..which remote did you buy?
I ask because all the remote units I looked at came with an antenna,..either an external mount antenna or a little blue wire. Maybe I'm mistaken but,.. the way you worded sounds like you're looking to add your own antenna?

From what I understand RF antennas are precise and need to be certain lengths according the the frequency? And just adding a longer wire likely isn't gonna increase range,.. Chances are the antenna that is on the receiver already is sufficient anyhow. The RS 101 I mentioned in the original post worked at 300' even through obstacles,..but the little blue antenna wire had to be outside the plastic box,..or the range will be affected due to the insulating factor of the plastic.

And I mentioned before about the other remote I bought,..it has a a feature that makes the transmitter beep when the signal is triggered on and off. But it isn't any better than the RS 101 I was using to begin with,..I just like the confirmation signal to know it's been triggered. As a whole,.these both work flawlessly.

I do have the rs101. Yes I was thinking of hooking up an extra antenna but right now I have the blue wire outside the box that is holding everything I will try it like that and see what happens.

I think you will be fine with it the way it is. My RS 101 has great range even through obstacles as I mentioned.

Steven,..I do a little extra with the transmitter. These are easy to take apart,..so I took the back off and applied dielectric grease over the circuit board to help prevent corrosion. I also did this with the receiver. And out the silica packets inside the ammo box with the receiver. I also put the transmitter inside a plastic pouch and added those little silica packets to keep moisture level down inside. I zip tied one of those binder clips so I can easily attach it to my waistband and have it at hands reach all the time. Just watch for accidental bumping of the on/off buttons.

*You can also wire in a flashing beacon light to let you see when the unit is "on/off

**Also,..I mentioned in an earlier post about lubricating the solenoid armature with dielectric grease,..I think I would change that to something dry like graphite powder. The dielectric grease if applied to heavily wil possibly cause sticking?

May be a stupid question but if you run a remote shut off, couldn't you remove the ball and spring from the injector to improve flow thus drawing more chem?

No, You can't remove the check ball and spring from the injector. The remote shut-off is placed in the chemical draw line and stops the flow of chem to the injector body.

If you remove the check ball and spring, You will be pumping water back to the chem tank and destroy the shut-off solenoid.
