Reclaiming apartment breezeways?

Is anyone doing it?

Is it possible? And is it economical?

Ive got a request for breezes cleaning at a property with sheetrock breezeways. Obviously we'd be doing the concrete floor only. The sheetrock runs to the floor with a baseboard. The breezeways floors are also level with the apartment floors. These are 2 and 3 stories tall. Is that a deal killer?

I'm curious if this can be done. I actually know of quite a few nice properties like this and they don't really have any other options.

I believe Greg Nash put up some videos last year of some similar cleaning with long stretches of concrete to be cleaned. They are on you tube.

I was wondering the same thing, seems like a good place for a vacuum. I would think small surface cleaner with plenty of vacuum to minimize any overspray. Maybe get with a carpet cleaner to try it out if you don't already have the vacuum setup?

Lift was my first concern Kory.

I know next to nothing about reclaim equipment so forgive me Russ.

Will that actually use filtered water out of that tank once you get going? Or would it fill up once and then need to be emptied or pumped out?

Electricity wouldn't be a problem, but water would be.

Could a set up similar to that work with the pressure washer down on the ground and the reclaim system carried to the floor being cleaned?

It is that simple.

The electric system might be strong enough to keep on the ground level even though you might be up a level or two and since it is an apartment complex, you can probably just pump the wash water out to the grass, plants and gardens but move the hose often as the areas might start flooding after a while.

I could be wrong but I think if you ran the vacuum hose and pressure hose to where you are working, the system should be strong enough to vacuum up the water. The Sirocco has a pump inside the drum to pump out the wash water, run a 1" hose out to where you need it to pump to.

Call me and I can tell you more about this, it is not that complicated.

No problem, call anytime.

This unit will not recycle the water back to the pressure washer. A constant feed would be required.

For use with your existing pressure washer, the PEV1 would fit. It could be moved from floor to floor.

Yes you would want to move the vac from floor to floor for best results. A 200 cfm unit should be sufficient for wash and recovery. The pump out in the unit itself will be able to overcome the height of the stairs and discharge to the grassy areas should be permitted without issue.

I have done several jobs like this over the past few years and it can be done fairly easily. With the Vacuum recovery surface cleaners they only get the bottom inch or less on the wall a little damp so you will have no issue with the drywall, unless you smash the surface cleaner into it...

Feel free to give me a call if you want to discuss it futher.

We do breezeway cleaning with vacuum recovery. It is pretty straight forward job just watch the water around doors and elevators you dont want any water intrusion in a elevator. Most breezeways are knockdown textured you will need a little more vacuum than normal. You should be able to pump out to the grass around the buildings. Make sure you have a good prefilter there is going to be alot of hair and lint. Give me a call if you want I can give you some advice.

We pulled 300ft of vac hose at around 400 cfm.
Our vacuum didn't have any problems with lift when we ran it at higher rpm's even at 4 stories up http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=ij8ifeI_5Jk

..um... yeah.. vacuuming surface cleaner is the right idea
..but dude.. our SC21v is SO MUCH better ..let's just call it "instant-capture"..
what a difference.. half-capture, and TOTAL capture are "compellingly" different..
I'm just saying.. You could run 2 of my 21" SCV's off that 400 cfm. with NO overspray.. I mean NONE.

Those breeze-ways should be done in a snap, with NO overspray to manage,
..and sucking water DOWN-hill is WAY easier than uphill..
our PEV2, from the ground, 200ft away, should make a "compelling demo"
150cfm AT the deck is all it needs.

a cheaper approach would be..
Our PEV1, with our 12" Vacuuming Surface Cleaner at 50 feet.
Russ chimed-in with that.. (thank you Russ !)
get one through him :{)
