Questions about STRIPING FROM SURFACE CLEANER. Driving me nuts

Mold and algae, heat and humidity are our best friends in this area. Mold and algae just keep growing and growing. It almost becomes part of the concrete. Leaves and nuts will fall on a driveway and leave a stain that NOTHING will clean it but SH. You could clean it with 10,000 psi and 10 GPM and if there were any concrete left it would still have that stain on it. Then you give it a little SH and like magic it disappears.

OK I am with you on the olive or date stains, but I tried the bleach afterward and it didn't do anything, just can't win with those.

Its the TIPS, throw the NEW ones away Go get them from someone with a Different LOT. Get the part cabinet brand. Problem SOLVED

Well I will go on record saying I would like to get a pillowcase full of spraying system tips and beat the owner with it because they are TERRIBLE - in my experience

I have had good luck with the General Pump spray nozzles and recently bought some of the ceramic nozzles and they are doing good in the surface cleaners.

I have had good luck with the spraying systems nozzles also.

I will never buy anything with the MTM Hydro label on them, they must be the junk that china does not even want. I have had 15 and 25 degree nozzles from 2 different vendors 2 different times thinking maybe it was a bad batch and each one has a different spray pattern when you use them, one of the 15 degree is like a 5 degree and the other is wider than a 25 degree pattern and then from the other vendor they are similar but when you get a general spray nozzle, those are normal nozzles so there must be no quality control wherever they make those crappy MTM Hydro spray nozzles.

Do yourself a huge favor when you order spray nozzles, ask for the brand that you like, don't tell them whatever or house brand or anything other than the brand you use as more vendors are selling those MTM Hydro pieces of junk.

The qc's are the worst. I know sunbrite sells good ones, they're not cheap, but you know you're getting quality.e

Tom, don't sugarcoat it. Let us know how you really feel.

When I have run into these issues it has always been the nozzles needing to be replaced. To some extent, here in Houston, it will happen no matter what on the first pass on really nasty concrete but a second passs perpendicluar to the first and the some diagonal or in circles might even be necessary....any yes...followed by downstreaming some bleach and surfactant!

Sometimes around here the algae get so deep into the concrete that it really needs soap. Kinda like cleaning grease with warm water. The sides of the surface cleaner get more water to surface contact than the middle does. It is the design of the surface cleaner. Soap is the answer if the nozzles don't do it.

Like Craig said your not doing anything wrong....rarely have I seen a surface cleaner that doesn't do that. Hit it with a good house was mix when you are done and allow to dry, do not rinse, and you should see better results.

+1 Doug! It absolutely drove me insane to drive away from a project with those overlap streaks. I tried new tips, raised the bar but nothing worked. A light coat of house mix and they are gone in less then 10 minutes along with any leave stains.

SH. Go both ways. switch directions ocassionally.
