Proper Stenicl Procedure?

In a recent thread, My self and another member were curious on the procedure for laying down stencils.

I have heard some members say they did 40 Demos with it in one day.

My questions is:
Are thease 40 demos unsolicited?, meaning you see a location you want to clean, and just lay the stencil down and Go, or are making contact with the decision maker before laying down the stencil?

And if you are making contact before, What procedure do you follow when talking on the phone, Or walking into their office? Do you ask for a moment of their time, and then perform the demo, set a day to come by? And if a no is given what kind of rebuttal are you giving?

Thank you guys, Im very interested in getting a stencil made, But im trying to weigh the benefits.

John

Hmm, I just discovered that a friend has a water jet, and is willing to cut stuff for free for me. Maybe I will get a stencil made.

That would be a good idea.

Go right behind Ron's crew and clean their's off and put yours on.

John, thats a good question.
Even if you show up to a property and perform a stencil cleaning, you have to get a picture or video of it to someone. That way they can see it and either award you the work or tell you not to come back anymore. LOL

I figure with an unsolicited bid, you could include your company name and phone number in the stencil, and they would see it and call, Or of course, film the procedure and send it to the GM or property manager.

Lonnie?

This is where I got mine. Actually it will be delivered tomorrow. Cost was $100 plus shipping & handling.

Mark,

Could you tell us more about this stencil, like what it's made of, it's overall size, the size of the lettering, and how many lines of text that you got for this price ??

Thanks

My Stencil is 36 x 18 and 3/16 thick. I don't remember what material he was going to use. The stencil has my name with the water drops just like my logo along with the phone number. I'll post some pictures later today. He will make any size you want

Terry, it's my friend that made the stencil for Mark. I saw it before he shipped it. It's pretty nice. He can do stainless steel or regular steel. His prices if I'm not mistaken are $100 - $200 + shipping. The cool thing is...

-He can make any size stencil.
-Any size lettering (I recommend 3" or larger).
-Your logo can be included in it.
-He can make a design in the edging if you want (see mine below).

Of course the $200 range is the full custom with logo and shaped edges, etc. You can email him at dale@serendipitymetal.com, or see his website at serendipitymetal.com. I am always one for helping out the "little businesses" when I can.
