I have to be honest here, as a business man that's fairly new to this industry it seems there are a lot of pitfalls on these
Forums. You have your guys running round tables and selling stuff.
You have the PWNA looking for members for the cost of I think 350 dollars.
You have guys selling you SEO plans to move your website to the top 5 or so in Google search.
You have guys selling Professional Logos for your business.
You have guys selling you marketing information for 1800 dollars promising a good ROI.
Guys are selling equipment .
You have guys starting new forums and Looking for new members to be part of there association.

There is new classes every week for a small fee of 450 dollars or so.
It seems there is not enough money to be made in this industry, it's a scary thing for a Newbie like myself
With limited funds and trying to be the best At his trade.

My thoughts were when first getting into this field was to buy the best equipment your Money can buy
Read the boards and learn as much as you can, be professional, be honest, and do the best of your God
Given ability to run your business the best way you know how.

I can make it easy for you. I have been in business for 24 years, and most would consider me moderately successful. I dont know, or even pretend to know everything. I have probably done one of the largest varieties of work of anyone on these forums, with the exception of wood. If you have a question, feel free to give me a call, and I will answer it, for free. I do like to hear the outcome, though. My number is listed in my signature. I dont typically answer tthe phone on sunday. At least you can get an experienced answer for a reasonable price.

I hear what you are saying Charles.

There is A LOT of crap out there and you need to know how to wade through it to get to the little bit of good stuff that is out there.

Like they say, you cannot believe everything that you see on the internet.

It can be a great challenge when you are new and want to grow your business, there are so many things that you can do but realistically there are only so many dollars in your pocket so you need to use them wisely to get the best return for your money.

Do yourself a huge favor and call some of the guys that you think are straightforward about things, get a lot of opinions and listen from both sides as some have ulterior motives then you will understand who will give you some good advice.

Good luck.

You have two choices, you can say yes or no to the offers. I listened to DJ's recording and stopped it at the point I heard $1800.00 I don't need to pay 1800.00 when I can get the book for free. Odds are I already read it years ago anyway.

I offer a school to anyone that is new or been in the business 3 years or less. I charge $400.00, not $450.00 The school is a day and a 1/2. I make no promises on future earnings or how successful you can be, only that you will leave with the confidence and ability to clean a house and roof and that anytime you need me for anything AFTER you leave the school, I am only a phone call, email, or text away. No ongoing charges, webinars, etc. If you need me I am here for you. That goes for anyone whether they attend the school or not. Charlie if I can help you in any way, just call.

Just remember that guy's like Ron, Scott, Tony, Larry, Chris, and many others all stand ready to help when needed. Just gotta make the call.

Doug you have helped me in the past and I appreciated it, it's great to know that there is some what of a safety net and support from you senior Guys/Gals
There are a lot of people on the ready in this and other forums to lend an ear when needed and I really do appreciate that as well. It just gets a bit frustrating with
So many avenues to explore for knowledge and so little time and funds to do what's necessary to take your business to the next level. But I know that time and on the job experience will also help fill the gaps and questions i have
Thanks for looking out guys and i want to be able to pay it forward when it's time for me to step up and help the newbie

Its no different then any other industry in the world. Everyone is trying to provide a service to make money. You decide what you want to join or be a part of. No one is forcing you to do anything. If you don't want to be a part of the class or Org then don't. This is a very successful industry so of course there is going to be distributors, organizations, classes, etc...

If there was not then you should be worried that you were in the wrong industry. I for one applaud DJ's entrepreneurship.

I am glad to help as well, this used to be a place to come and get help for free. We wanted people to get into this buisness and do it right, we wanted to get away from the stigma of being hacks. Now we have guys that have been P/W for 2 weeks and their giving seminars? Marketing Genius of the elite Masterminds...lol... Give me a break. Anything that they want to sell you you can get free from Me, Grant, Ron, Larry, and many other pro's on PWI.

Let me clarify again that this will be a high level sales group. Not just any one can join. If you are new to this business you will not be accepted. This group is for business owners or sales people that are serious about advancing their sales skills and tactics.

This is not a scheme. Chuck has over 20 years of experience and has worked on multi million dollar deals outside of the power washing industry. This an opportunity to INVEST in the future of your business and your professional development.

DJ,
Thanks for the clarification, but really, I see absolutely no value, other then comedic value from you presenting. You forget that some of us remember that you are under 25 and have only been in business for MAYBE four years yourself. When you get your business up to where you are grossing even $500k a year, then get back with me, because last I heard, you weren't even close.

Not to worry, you are not the only person I have been this direct with. I have seen people that have broken the $100k in annual sales level, and suddenly thought that they were a sales genius. For me, it takes more then that.

Ditto !!

Why in the world would anyone want to spend $1800 on someone that deals 'outside' of the power washing industry is my question. I would take my $1800 to Scott, Ron or Russ or a few other guys on here that deals 'inside' of the power washing industry and learn from them.

I just watched the video DJ posted, if I understand correctly - there are a total of 18 sessions that work out at $100 per session. I am only going to comment on the possible value... If Chuck is as good as he appears and can lead a 'quality', 'proven' group of guys/gals in the discussion each Friday, this could be of great value to the right person(s). I guess this is where the risk/reward lies... as with all business decisions, weigh the pros and cons before investing and committing to it.

Guys like DJ are passionate and driven - like him or not, take him out of the equation here and potentially the knowledge and information shared could help make someone $$,$$$! I would stress though, as with all information (paid or not), it is how the individual applies it to their own situation that will determine its success.

Just my 2 cents... (I'll keep the other $1799.98 for other things! :smile-us-down:)
