Preventing Chlorine From Killing Plants

Apple Roof Cleaning

Roof Cleaning Instructor
Here we are, way back in 1999, trying to find out exactly WHY Chlorine can kill plantshttp://www.madsci.org/posts/archives/jul99/932670591.Bt.q.html

If you look at the our post, you will see our "school" listed, LOL
Actually, I did start the RCIA way back when ..

The RCIA of course, was the Roof Cleaning Institute Of America!
I actually had 3 students from different pats of the country attend over a two year period.

And, I trained them, free of charge, in the roof cleaning state of the art, at THAT TIME.'

That was 1997 to 1999!

These 3 people got certified by the RCIA.

What do you think guys, should I revive the RCIA ?

I am seriously considering it ?
Wouldn;t it be nice to be certified in the roof cleaning field ?

Go for it, Chris.

I would definitely attend!

I would definitely attend!
The RCIA, or "Roof Cleaning Institute Of America" will be a free certification course for us roof cleaning professionals.

One will have to pass a multiple choice test, and a telephone exam, and provide before and after picture proof that they have mastered their craft.

A "certificate of competency" will then be issued.

IF any money is charged for this course, it will ONLY be for the nice certificate RCIA issues.
We may be talking 5 or ten bucks, at most.

The RCIA will be given a web page, and our approved contractors will then be grouped by geographical area's.
This way, a potential customer seeking certified roof cleaning professionals will be able to find them.

And, a potential customer will be able to verify the competency of a prospective contractor by checking the RCIA web page.

Too many Unanswered Complaints against an RCIA contractor will be grounds for suspension of "good standing" in RCIA.

Only RCIA contractors in good standing will have a direct geographical link to them.

RCIA will NOT be a dictatorship.
It will have a board, and all decisions will be made in a democratic manner.

Any suggestions guys ?

I think us roof cleaners need certification, to identify us as the true pro's we are ?

If this is done just right it could be a great asset to our profession.

Chris, Tim,

I own the perfect domain name for such an organization/site/directory/consumer educator.

I own the domain.... www.yourcleanroof.com

If you put something together, we might have an excellent marketable site name to accompany "certification" for bleach dwellers. lol

Giving this a bump. I think this is a great Idea. It would really seperate the pros from the hacks. You should be certified in everything else, why not roof cleaning too?

I agree Scott i think that would help regulate more business and look very professional.

Seven guys already told you you should.
Six of them even know what they're talking about!
