Old topic, but good information about BLEACH

Pat, how's the new gig going?

Really good. I had about 20 years experience in doing purchasing and scheduling for an upholstered furniture plant before so it's kinda like riding a bike for me. Right now is kinda hectic because we are getting a software system installed but for the moment we are just trying to run things with spreadsheets and quickbooks. Anxiously awaiting new software.

I know when I clean wood with a light mix of 1 gal of 12% and 4 gals of water it takes a longer dwell than a 50/50 mix. So i'm no scientist but I can see how much weaker my mix is at that lighter solution vs 50/50 mix.

So, by drinking 2 glasses each with 4oz of 100 proof Rum and 4oz of water (reducing each glass to 50 proof) would be the same as drinking 1 glass with 4oz of 100 Proof Rum?

Im sure there is a bartenders forum that will tinkle your fancy more.
but why not answer…. Proof is twice the alcohol by volume. Not weight. So you had two drinks that were 25% alcohol and one drink that was 50% alcohol.
You just drank 2 slower than 1.
IDK why you are hung up on volume when it comes to Sodium Hypochlorite …….

This is the biggest headache thread I've seen in a while.

Take two shot glasses of whiskey and put them in 12 oz glasses . fill one glass with coke . which glass has a stronger content of booz? now do the same with bleach ?

Not sure - after reading this thread I drank them both before I had a chance to look lol

The issue is the dilution is by VOLUME. Yes a gallon of 12% SH becomes 6% at a 50/50 SOLUTION by VOLUME but technically it's still composed of 1 gallon of 12% and 1 gallon of water. You guys are getting hung up on the terms.

So when when we cut 12% SH 50/50 we are making a 6% solution... not 6% SH.

Now wheres that whiskey??

Good to hear from you Steven. How have you been? Healthy I hope!

Doing much better these days. Still have a way to go on regaining my strength, mobility has improved drastically. I have been spend the last few months catching up on repair work in the shop. Getting ready to build another trailer rig. This one will have a recycling system on it. Here is a picture of the unit.
