No Pressure, Roof Cleaning mixture

Got some "Renew" from Glen at Ace Cleaning....Love It! And it doesn't smell to "chemically" as to turn off the customer..
My guys says it works best of what we have tried so far.
Have not tried Sun Brites roof cleaner yet though...

How do you go about pricing for a roof cleaning. I am trying to figure out how to price. if any one can give some comments it would be greatly appreciated.

cleaning roof is not hard work, but dangerous work...

So I just say 250.00 for a vary small house, to 650.00 for the largest houses... I do not do houses that I can not walk, Plus no one is doing roof wash here so I think I am the only one doing them in my area.... I put on with pump-up sprayer, so I walk all roofs...Time varys from a few hours to the longest of seven hours... Plus the house that took seven hours was not that big of a house, Charged 350.00... So be careful about price...

Good Luck,

Matt

roof cleaning chemicals

Has anyone tried shinglecare products to clean any roofs. I am going to be adding this service to my list this spring and am looking for a good chemical to use.

New Again

I had picked up a gallon of "New again" on the way over. (Because i had finally remembered to do so)
So I think I am changing roof cleaners myself.
It is about $22/gal. but makes 6 gallons.[/QUOTE]

Where did you "pick-up" this "New Again" - can't find it on the internet...

The stuff is good. I recommend mixing at 1:10 for extra economy. Cleans decks and fences, too. At 1:3, it will strip opaque stain.

Hard Sell

I have come across a product that is designed to be applied to a roof and not rinsed.

It's called Roof-a-Cide. It doesn't produce results immediately, but it will remove the algea over the course of about 6-10 weeks (depending on the amount of rain) and it will inhibit new growth for up to five year - although it's only waranteed for two.

I find any product that does not produce immediate visable results for the customer is a hard sell. It is difficult to tell them that I am going to spray this miracle chemical on your roof, you will pay me now, and in 6-10 weeks you might notice a change...

Almost every other roof in Houston looks like its been through a black rain storm. Only those selling thier homes even care about the roof appearance. I am now using an M5 X-Jet and testing ratios with chems for roof results. Nothing has worked to even make a noticable difference so far.

I would like to know some specifics from those who have seen immediate results.
Chemical
% concentration
X-Jet proportioner color for 4GPM
Where to get the Chem.
% concentration when it hits the roof
Dwell time
If multi-concoction volume and % of each ingredient in 5 gal bucket

THis would really help.
Money is not an issue - I will buy anything just to have a base line to work from, to be able to say, OK this will get me the results I want on a black roof.

Sory for the long post but this roof thing is apparently VERY frustrating for a LOT of people and seems to take up a lot of room on these BB's. Too many different concoctions. We need ONE GOOD CHEMIST to figure out what works as a standard on asphalt shingles that appear black - and won't damage the roof material - and that does not require risking our lives climbing around on 60 degree pitch roofs in 100 degree temp's.

Chlorine and dawn

I know about the Chlorine but who is Dawn and how much does she chage by the hour? Is this how you guys are cleaning roofs?

What concentration are you applying it at?

What are you using to apply - Shurflow 25gal with stainless wand?

Dwell time?

Geez, I've never heard of so many products for the same job, and those catchy little names don't impress me either. Has anyone ever heard of 12% sodium hypochlorite and an x jet?

Mix

Hey Russ are you using the liquid TIDE or powder and how much do you use in your mix?? Thanks Hugh
