New Trailer Setup

The only stupid question is one you won't ask.
The answer is no.
Now I've siphoned antifreeze out of the top of a 5 gallon bucket before in an emergency but that is not recommended.

Chad, a great answer and it just earned you one those Green Thingys.

Nice rig Jason!! That thing is sweet! I agree a perfect residential trailer. Only thing I would have done different is lose the Blue hose and get Grey! haha

Love it man, congrats!!

Ty, you're so right on the color thing. Learned that the hard way!

Thanks Ted. Your approval means more to me than a "green thingy" lol. But I'll take it.

I have been trying to tell this board for years. Grey hose just makes most sense... blue hose and black hose leaves marks. Never had a single mark w grey hose.

Quit using black hoses YEARS ago, and always use Grey or Blue, But I have never had a blue hose that left marks...

To prove my point I'd like to send you my 100 ft length of 3/8" Goodyear Neptune, 2-Wire Blue "Non-Marking" hose. On the other hand, why would I send garbage to a Good Buddy? Not going to happen! LOL

That is a nice little trailer.
You asked what I would do differently?
1. Larger supply lines to the pumps. I am a believer that a large supply line reduces the frequency of seal replacement in pumps. Ours are abused to the extreme, and we have rebuilt more engines than pumps. I think there is usually an engine in our shop for rebuild, at least once a week, it seems. I hate Briggs motors, just because of that. I am fortunate that I have my own mechanic.
2. I would not have the 90's on the machine supply. They restrict flow.
3. Larger feed hose. At least 3/4 inch per machine, especially at that volume. If you can locate and afford 1" even better.
4. You need a a brace across the hose reels, because they are likely to wobble and break.
5. Lighting and cones. I would put a little LED strobe on the back, and get some bigger cones, with reflective collars. The reflective collar make them more visible in the day time, too.
6. It looks like there might be enough room for a roof cleaning pump. The tank could be problematic, unless you were to downstream the love.

But really, I would give your trailer a 9 out of 10. The last thing is, that it is just too clean. Lets get it to work making money.

I am going to order some of Ty's special grey hose soon... Haha!!Good stuff Scott. I use 1-inch supply lines to my pumps. You use larger?

It depends on volume. For an 8 gpm pump I have found it barely adequate. I have one trailer that has a two inch line. It does feed two 5 gallon pumps. But a two inch line flows about four times the water.

Blue non marking still leaves marks. Grey matches concrete. Ask Russ for Ty's special grey hose and you will never go back to blue. Once you go grey you never go back!!!! Haha

I have grey hose from Russ, probably same one. But i also have blue from Russ and Paul and have had many, but have never had them leave a mark...

I've had the neptune and it didn;t leave marks...and we do a lot of white pool decks. If your going to send me something, make it a Pizza, and surprise me...oops never mind, I know you all to well. lololol

I have had blue hose leave markings on the rare occasion but not often. Must be that AZ climate Ty. Haha

I think it is. When we use steaming hot water with non marking blue hoses in the 110 degree heat. We get blue marks on the concrete. But my grey doesn't seem to leave marks. I think its because you can't see them since they match the concrete better. Makes sense to use a hose that matches better so even if there is a mark it is less noticeable.

Are you reducing that two inch line down to 3/4 or 1 inch hose at the pump for a 8gpm

Send it my way, Ted! I'll even pay you for the shipping, and free up some space at your shop. Because I'm such a good guy! Lol

I don't use an 8 gpm. However, a one inch is far better. I use one inch for my 5.5's
