Yes 3/8 quick connect for the lance then 1/4 for the tips. How come I wasn't having this issue with the shurflo? Should I of got another shurflo instead of that flojet or at least the same specs as the shurflo?

3.6 gpm to 4.7gpm what you think the problem is? The 3/8 hose?

Here is my situation I have four roofs I gotta do this week. I was going to go buy another shurflo to get the job done. The hose and shurflo are the same price. if I get the hose I'm not sure it that going to 100% fix the problem and I get the shurflo i can do these four roofs. Decisions decisions. What would you guys do if you were in this pickle? Oh btw I was in the middle of doing a roof today battling this overheating issue and then it never came back on. I went down to check on it and I could barely hear it so I check the battery and i think it drained the battery.

I'm not sure that's what came with the rig and I have yet needed to use the whole thing.
I would eliminate the 300' of hose and try 200'. As for the pump problem, The 3.6 gpm is almost too much for the 3/8" hose. The 4.7 is way too much for the smaller hose. If your not able to lay your hands on some 1/2" hose in a hurry, Buy a smaller pump to get yourself through this week and order 200' of 1/2" Kuri-Tek ag hose for next week or the week after.
As for draining the battery, Excess heat build-up in the pump(with too much restriction from the 3/8" hose) caused the pump to draw more amps than normal. This is a double whammy situation, More heat = more amps = more heat and the end result is a fried pump motor......

I burned 2 5850's out with them quick connects years ago, never again! You need a clear run from the pump to the gun

How does the quick connects burn up a pump? I have a line going from my pump to my real and then its 300' hose with a 3/8 quick connect at the end of the hose. I will take a picture of it and post it so you guys can take a look.
Yes, I use safety equipment while on a roof unless it is a "Very" flat roof. Here in Maryland, Most of the roofs I work on are similar to New England style roofs(Very Steep).
As for the quick connect, It can restrict the flow of your solution and givin you have 300' of hose, It can make the situation even worse.
Glad to hear you got another pump and kept on truckin with the roofs!!!
JMO, I would seriously consider shortening the hose to 200'. Hopefully, Someone else will provide their opinion....

It is an Air Diaphragm Pump. Powered by an air compressor.
