wrestler from way back ,trained a tad in the kung fu (Wing Chung) area and some Chinese boxing but I am all about the ground and pound !

What is Wing Chun ?

Wing Chun is the name of a system of martial arts developed in southern China approximately 300 years ago. Its originator, the Buddhist nun Ng Mui, was a master of Shaolin Kung Fu and used this knowledge to invent a way to take advantage of the weaknesses inherent in the other Shaolin systems. Wing Chun does not require great strength, speed or a long period of practice to get results. Wing Chun stresses development of skill and co-ordination to have the practitioner deflect and redirect an opponent's attack, while simultaneously countering with his/her own attack. In 1949, Yip Man, who was considered to be the grandmaster of modern Wing Chun, brought the style out of China into Hong Kong and eventually to the rest of the world.

what is Chinese boxing ?
Chinese Boxing is a generic label for the Chinese Martial Art. It emphasizes arts which are based on energy development and high percentage theory. A Synthesis is often criticized and is said to be less than a "pure style." In fact, most pure styles when researched are actually synthesis of other arts. In other words it is the start of the term MMA

I have a black belt in street and parking lot fighting, and Jail Jitsu, with a brown belt in improvised Prison weapons.
I am especially adept with a bar of soap in a sock, and good with a shank.
Good with mop and broom handles too, of course.

Did Matt Serra ever BEAT St Pierre ???
Matt Hughes, like most Miletich Fighters are well trained, and well JUICED.
The new UFC put an end to a lot of that crap.
Just look at older movies of Matt, and look at him now.
I took juice, and never lost a fight in my 20's when I was on steroids.
And I started plenty.
Steroids gives you a HUGE advantage in a fight.
Not saying Matt is a Punk, FAR FAR from it, but w/o his juice, he is being revealed as what he is, just another really good fighter.
St Pierre hurt him plenty when they fought.
St Pierre is a TRUE athlete with superior speed and striking/kicking skills.
Hughes, w/o his Steroid powered super Human strength was screwed.
St Pierres kicks hurt him, and hurt him badly.
I THINK Matt Serra is on the stuff too, but that Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is tough if you do not know how to defend against it.
The long arms of St Pierre are far too easy to grab and break for a Jiu Jitsu guy like Serra.

Have they fought before ??

kimbo slice!! have you heard of him? or watched him fight?

Seen him since his first internet fight. He lost an NHB type fight to Sean Gannon a couple of years ago (KO, exhaustion). No doubt he can punch, but he is picking up the groundgame at a very late age. He is being trained by one of the best, Bas Rutten. I have to see this guy against a quality opponent before I give him some real credit. Now, I KNOW he is a better fighter than that superhyped sack of crap Bob 'The Beast' Sapp.

Remember when there wereno rules in UFC 1 and 2, then the only rules were no eye gouging and no biting. There was one round, and some of the most brutal, yet complex and artistic fights were then. Gracie was king then, no doubt. Severn was a beast, Abbott was a 1-punch sensation, and there were no "fakes" like Kimbo Slice. Best loser in UFC history...Oleg Tarktarov, possibly the toughest man I have ever seen (UFC 5 or 6?). And about Kimbo, watch his fight with Gannon.

He is a 1 trick pony...no match for a true MMA fighter.

Right, but he at least has some talet and seems to really be trying, not like this heartless punk who only made a name for himself cause the Japanese have a fascination with big men. Dude became a millionaire only due to him being big and scary. ZERO fighting talent.

Yes, Matt Serra beat George last year and took his title. In the re-match George won this past April in Montreal and took the Welterweight title back.

St.Pierre had the home field advantage and a Canadian referee advantage. He stopped the fight early when St.Pierre had Matt Serra on the mat just from him kneeing him in the ribs. Kinda lame.

I still think St.Pierre would have won even if the Ref didn't stop the fight early . George was dominating Matt from the ground and the result probably would have been the same. TKO (referee stoppage)

I'm a little disappointed George has been somewhat gun shy about his stand up game since his KO loss to Matt Serra last year. It seems that way because in his last 3 fights he has taken all of his opponents to the ground to finish the fight and hasn't tried to get the KO on his feet. His striking is what makes him so dangerous and an exciting fighter to watch. His ground game is also just as good, which is why he's the champ. Very well rounded.

BJ Penn won the Lightweight title against Sean Sherk in May. He wants to move up again and is now calling out George St.Pierre to fight for the welterweight title.

George's next fight is against Jon Fitch, who has won 8 straight fights. Very close match up, George might be in for a war.

I watched Georges HURT Matt with kicks.
Matt is a great fighter, but off the roids he has proven to be beatable.'
ON the juice, no way anyone could win.
Tito was another example of a juice monster, unreal endurance.
Hey, in my 20's, I TOOK that stuff, know all about it.
There was an insinde joke about Militech Fighters I am told.
They called it Militech Pharmacy :)

Now, Penn vs St Pierre, wow :D

Matt Hughes does not use steriods folks. This is how stupid rumors are spread.

He fights in the 170 weight class.
MAtt Hughes weighs 185-190 when he wakes up

Here is proof : http://www.matt-hughes.com/blog/ask-matt-archive/

"Today is April 24th and I’m 192 pounds, on May 27th I’ve got to be 175. A week away from the fight I like to be no more than 10 pounds over. I just lose water weight in the last week. -Matt"

These guys are ELITE athelets that have trained everyday for this since they were little kids. You take the kind of steriods Chris Tucker is suggesting that he said and you will get bloated and gain a lot of weight. The exact opposite of what MAtt wants. The risk to benefit factor for Matt Hughes to juice dry roids for strength is so contradictory to what he actually does with his body it is crazy and shows your true ignorance of the sport. You will find some fighters on juice don't get me wrong. Just not a fine tuned champ that ruled a wieght class. Your noobies and fighters trying to make a class up maybe.
Every industry has folks that don't follow the rules. Don't let one bad apple spoil it all.

STERIODS make you gain weight or hold your weight. They reduce your flex and most steriods reduce your STAMINA. There are certain steriods that can help with your stam but they will NOT MAKE AN athlete.

Inside joke at Militech.......ROFLMAO

Who do you know on the "inside" of Mr. Militechs school?

Forrest Griffin!!!!! That was the fight of the year!
THe Rampage/Griffin fight was great!
The exact same thing happened with Mike Tyson when he fought Buster Douglas.
Douglas had a HUGE reach advantage, used his Jab to keep Tyson off balance all fight, frustrating him.
Griffin kept Rampage off of him with his longer reach, and attacked his leading knee.
he hurt Rampage with a kick, in much the same way St Pierre did to Matt Hughes.
Rampage was revealed to be the one dimensional sucker punch artist he is.
On the ground, he was helpless against Griffin.
Give Rampage credit, he admitted he got his azz kicked.

One fight, a guy was winning, but caught in a guillotine, and forced to tap.

It was my sisters b day, watched it over there.

Had a great time :)

BJ Penn at the MMA show today. Really nice guy in person. Got my Team Hawaii shirt, shaka bra!!!!
