I don't think Gracie took Hughes to be the fighter he is.. and to think Gracie was beat with own style. but regardless I got to see this fight. And what about Coutre he's not worth makin the list?

Maybe I am:D ...... tha ball & chain.....errrr my lady said the same thing to me. I told her what do you think my guys are doing???

I'm wondering why 5 votes but only 2 of us posted?

As a set of qualifications, I have been a medalist in Junior Olympic boxing. Thhat was a long time ago. I have had more street fights than I care to think about, but that was still a long time ago. I am not a Bad Asx MO FO. I was just a victim of circumstance, and I never started the fights myself. Usually, growing up, since I was, and am, quiet and mellow, I was the guy people used to attack to approve their manhood.
That being said, I do not understand what the purpose of this is. It looks to me to be a bunch of wannabe bar room thugs that are seeking fame and fortune for being thugs. There is no entertainment in it for me.

I seriously think boxing is on its way out. I can't even tell you who the current world champion is. The UFC started out with a lot of brawlers but it has become a competetive event. There is no way you can win this without training in various forms of martial arts. The MMA is the future of contact sports.

That is okay, I don't much get boxing either. Dang, it hurts, and to subject yourself to that voluntarily is not exactly brilliant.

just to set the record straight, i was a gracie fan back in the day but he fell out of the limelight and the new younger guys stepped in ... i believe ufc is the up and coming new sport ,boxing, which i have been a fan of for years,i believe has been corrupted and is not a trustworthy sport since don king has took over ,every time i see him with a fighter i think......sellout.....not true to their roots and all about the money and not about the sport

the ufc guys are hungry and its still about the sport....ufc rules!!!!!:D

I,m a gracia fan, But have to go with the new favorite Matt since he is training at our local gym in Bettendorf. The Quad cities has alot of fighters that still train today in the small gyms. Nick Tarpien, Pat Miltiech, Mike Nunn and now Matt Hughes. All these fighters held World Titles in the last five years or less.

Matt

I forgot about Tim Sylvia, He also trains at Pat Gym in Bettendorf, But I am unaware if he has held a title.

You wish you had never boxed? I sometimes think its all about sensationalism.

I do believe self defense training is important.

I'll bet more people get seriously injured in football more than boxing.

I guess i love the competing. watching when hearts & brains victor over braun.
