Linking two machines?

Make sure he "sweeps" the hoses as much as he can. 90 degree fittings can really restrict the flow. Every 90 is like adding another 10 feet of hose. If he still has problems, make sure he is using large area filter screens. That was the last thing I changed and that was the final piece of the puzzle. Flow the hose from the tank to a 5 gallon bucket to measure flow. Then add whatever fittings, filters, etc. that you need to attach the line to the pump and flow to the bucket again. If it is dropping to much... get bigger filter screens. Good luck!

Thanks for the info Chuck, I will let him know.

great information Chuck (and chris) thanks looks like you helped me on the learning curve ....I can buy 2 4.9 gallons direct drives 4000psi for 1500 total (new) tie them together and end up with 9-10 gallons per minute or use them seperately

That's how I do it. I like the fact that if one machine goes down you can still survive with the other machine. It sucks because you are used to the higher GPMs, but at least you can still work.

Now all you would need is a hot box so you can clean up gum and greasy areas and you are all set.

Do you have a surface cleaner yet?

All set. The hot box is only rated at 4GPM so when I need hot water I can only run one of the machines. Kinda of sucks but I do have hot when I need it. I really have not had much call for it in the few years that I have done this. Maybe just not the right jobs for it. When I do need the hot, I use one machine, get everything clean, rinse light, then rinse with the two machines hooked together for a full wash down. It's working. I'll upgrade when things go bad and equipment wears out. But until then, It's all good.

Had the surface cleaner pretty much from day one. Just changed the nozzles when I hooked up the two machines. That is where you REALLY see the difference!
