Lets Talk Post cards, they work!!

We payed I believe 15.2 for 8.5x11s mailed by carrier route. That was with a mailing house doing all of the legwork. The total price per card was around .32
That sounds like a good price I'm sure they used the eddm program at the post office and charged you a penny a card for them doing it.

I just ordered 5000 postcards from WCR and sent out my first 904. Amazing rate. I had 8.5 x 11 super thick quality, and uv coated...awesome quality. I will let everyone results, I should have themin about a week.

The Us Postal service has a program called Every Door Direct Mail that lets you pinpoint the neighborhood you want to hit. You can pick any carrier route. They have a map that shows you what streets are covered my the Carrier. Each piece cost 14.2 cants They have to be a certain size, at least 11 1/8" long or 6 1/2" high or 1/4" thick. In my area each Carrier delivers to 600 to 700 homes. I plan on using this soon.

I want to extend a big thank you to Lenny for bringing the EDDM program to my attention, we recently added residential services to our company and WERE spending a ton on mail list, labor, postage and what not, when Lenny mentioned this program I immediately had someone look into it, after working out the kinks , we made a few semi targeted mailings of 700-900 AND WHAT A RESPONSE!!! 3 & 6% respectively, that is a great response for just a few hundred bucks in postage, printing and labor.

Could not be happier, thank you Lenny, and I hope that more people look into the EDDM program it is GREAT!

Lenny, what about the address label? Will they deliver these to the area you want without address labels or do you need address labels on them for where they are going?

I had a company sending mine, I bought the list and picked out the streets and they printed the labels onto the card and took them to the post office and with them doing this, it cost me about $0.26 or $0.28 each card after I paid for the list of names.

Thanks.

Chris, I go to the Post Office and they tell me exactly what I need on the label for the neighborhood that I want to target. Then I print the labels, label the cards, and drop them off at the post office. BTW, I always frop mine off on Wenesday or Thursday. Tuesday is junk mail day around here so I want to make sure they are not delivered that day.

Thanks.

I will go to the post office and talk to them about this.

The advantage to using the USPS system yourself is that you can do some fly overs using Google earth or your local GIS system, coordinate that with tax collector info like home values, who has pools, how many rentals vs homeowners all that good stuff and you can target locations pretty well at a big cut of what a mailing house has to offer.

High end printing for this seems to not be needed, simple to the point ads seem to work.

Get yourself a custom # for your new campaigns and go for it. we got 275-WASH and it is a hit!

We are now working on Sundays with resi work 100% based on this USPS program. Our latest campaign was 4000 or so, that went out on Friday and we are getting calls like crazy even today.

MMMMMMMM....love the smell of $$$$

Every Door Direct Mail, or EDDM, is a new low-cost mailing option from the US Postal Service. It's designed for businesses and organizations who want to mail to "every door" in a given geography. The postage rate (14.2 cents) is about half what you'd pay for a postcard or letter, and there are no special postage permits or annual fees requiredEvery Door Direct Mail Retail is designed to reach a broad audience in a localized area, so it can work great for local businesses.

Postcards can be relatively cheap, especially if you order them in bulk, like let's say, ten thousand pieces. If you only use a single color, then you can even get it cheaper.Postcard printing is easy, cheap, and efficient and a very effective form of marketing.

Today, it is easy to think about postcards as the poor stepchild. The most important things how a little postcard compete for reader attention. You always tell your readers to visit your store or your website. The good news is that these are inexpensive, easy to produce, and quick to get results.
