Not a bad idea. Then we might get a better look at what Phil is all about.

Then again, I doubt he'll go for it. I'm sure he's already working on a book to tell the exhaust service world what it's like to sit at the top of hood cleaner's mount;) . Pre-order your copy now, only $99.95.:p

Not really. It was up for about a year and then when the old guard changed the colors it went away. It has been back up for about 7 weeks and Ron and I are actively working on a plan to have rotating banners of the active contractors on this board. That is part of why you are seeing the new post reminder under your names and also why you see a small scale up near the IP number of each post (by the way, if you click on the scale you can give reputation points to other posters) Give it a try!

If all goes as planned, reputation points and active posters (not total posts but posts per day) will get banner time. Start designing your banners...

If I were Phil I would not come on any bb because he would be rat packed on non issues and he would have everything to loose and nothing to gain. This is the world we live in.
Send him an Email and he will answer it. But I am sure he will never be part of this or any bb that lacks any degree of control. I don’t blame him a bit.

At times I feel we are on a pirate ship floating in grease.

Ahrrgg. What kind of non issues would he be rat packed with? I'm not sure what kind of control would be needed to keep Phil posting, maybe a don't disagree with Phil rule. I'm pretty sure you'd lose a few frequent posters over that one.

I think Phil could add a lot to discussion on this board.

If you can't stand the heat.....stay on the porch? Or is it, if you can't run with the big dogs....get cooked in a wok?

I would like a banner. I'm all for the 500 post deal. Or how about better than .5 post per day?

Phil posting is a great idea! It would give us all a heads up as to when he will require us (per NFPA) to give him some cashola for a certificate that says we can now clean a hood.

I will try to call hime Tuesday or wed. to see if he is interested. He a pretty staight forward guy that will answer quickly. Then we could try to ask others in the same position as phil. I would just like to give the Guru the shot first.

In theory, in several months, we could ALL be "Phil" certified?
I'm stoked!

???

The Guru? Please, don't refer to his sick claims to fame.

Maybe it's because of these types of statements that "he" is "somebody". I guess I have missed something that helped me clean a hood last Friday.

Why not call on someone else that has some important input... you know, the guy that actually works out in field. When I am old and grey, I will offer my assistance too because I found a gold mind and am too old to climb a ladder.

When is the last time Phil saw an UPGRADED system that has two rows of three burners and a shelf that has only two nozzles? Does he address that?

Wait.... I've never had one of Phil's "classes". Since I've never had one of his classes, how in the world would I know that a 6 burner stove needs three nozzles? Know the business and recognize, work with and correct violations.

Come on... how many or what type of classes does it really take to realize what "bare metal" means?

Holy Crap!!!

Phil is the Guru. I don't think that title has been self attached. Even if it was I would say he deserves that title. I doubt anyone can claim his knowledge or experience in this industry.

10 bucks says you catch some major heat over that rant.

I'll take that $10! I'll PM you the mailing address! I know I will catch hell.

I have yet to see any videos or books of Phil's. So how did I know how to clean a system last Friday?

My point is that we don't need Phil here every week to tell us or help us with cleaning hoods. It's nothing against Phil or anything like that.

The real life experiences, such as discussing FOAM and such things is what will help. Stan is a good example of an outsider that is needed, not Phil.

I think you missed the point. I am sure you know how to clean a hood, I think everyone on this board can. We have different methods, styles, equipment but we all try to achieve the same goal. I don't feel at all pressured to be PAC and I don't think he is pressuring anyone to do so. It's the same when you try to make a sale on your KEC services. You tell the customer what you've got and either they use you or they don't. I personally would love to listen to anything Phil would have to say in order to better my service and hopefully better the industry as a whole. I am sure you will agree there are some terrible companies out there. Why it is anyone feels threatened to further educate themselves is beyond me. I teach my kids everyday, "Knowledge is power!" Maybe that's the problem for some.

Get him to come. I'm sure he will offer alot.

Just a thought.

From reading posts on this board, I think everyone here will do just fine without the opionion from someone who does not get dirty on the job. We see actual problems and have to adjust to them on the fly. Something you will never get with being "certified". Certification, as far as I am concerned, is just a way for someone to make a buck the easy way. I have no problem with that, I chose not to be a part of it though.
