Las Vegas Garage Cleaning Event 2013

The bone in Rib-eye is great.

All I know is we ate way too much!

Ate a Lunch at Chicago Joe's, a tiny little Italian restaurant in the middle of downtown that used to be a mob hangout. Ate too much there.

We went to the former Mayor's place "Oscar's Beef Booze and Broads". This place has been around for years. It is the restaurant that overlooks Fremont street. It was being constructed and is the the background in "Diamonds are Forever" and ironically is in the background of the Video "We built this City", by Jefferson Starship begging the question - Which city was built on Rock and Roll?

It was also in the movie "Casino" here:

Here's the big Happy family:

Here's the culprit:

Ron ate pretty light. He had the best chopped salad most of us had ever tasted:

The best thing of all was having the waiter drop the huge check off to Chris and seeing him reach for his wallet without blinking an eye. I was just kidding with him, but I don't think I have to worry about him financially anymore!

We ate a couple of times at the All American Grill at the Rio and twice at an awesome old time breakfast place down the street.

All in all we just ate way to much. But I wouldn't change a thing.

Had a great time hanging out with a best friend of our entire family!

Thanks for the company Ron!

Seriously
With the garage cleaning event put on exclusively by Jim Gamble of Crystal Cleaning Company of Antioch, California, I thought it fitting to bring back some old memories of when he first learned about basic filtration from Scott Stone, an experienced garage cleaner, the owner of "A Mind for Detail" from Mesa, Arizona.

Thanks to this 2008 event put on by Ron Musgraves of National Cleaning Expo, Jim had the opportunity to view how a three part separator works for the first time. These events are worthwhile for any powerwasher as Jim will attest since he has increased his income to the point now where he not only can pay for his own lodging at conventions, but is now putting on an event of his own!

His Las Vegas event has been said (by him) to be the first event where contactors can actually demo equipment themselves. Apparently he forgot the first event he attended hosted by Ron Musgraves where everyone was allowed to use the equipment.

Finally, in this clip, Jim, having made the commitment of going to Ron's roundtable, hits paydirt when he learns some basic information about pump rebuilding which was sure to save him money in the future since he is schooled in the fact that he doesn't have to replace the most expensive part everytime by more experienced mechanics like Russ Johnson and Scott Stone.

My hat's off to Jim for giving back what he has learned in just four short years.

I don't know why those guys haven't flooded the "net" (John) with photos from all the equipment running at the event! Since we already went off track with this thread maybe they feel like the pictures would get lost amongst our food pics. Somebody should start another thread to give them some room to gloat.

I saw lots of pictures elsewhere of the fancy suite where they had some drinks, but this was supposed to be a hard working garage cleaning event.

Let's start another thread and invite any attendees to post up pics.

Lastly on this thread, Just so you guys know, this is valet parking Ron style. Right at the front door. He is going to turn me into a prima donna. Next think you know I'll be getting pedicures.

Rollin on Dubs. What you got Scott 17's?

No, it is just naturally awesome looking. CROWN VIC!

Doug, I can't find much of any information on the garage cleaning event.

I did, however find it interesting to find that at one forum the garage event thread is tagged with the following tags:

1) Arizona Department
2) Bus Shelters
3) Bus Stops
4) Maricopa County (Phoenix)
5) Maricopa County Government
6) Maricopa Gov
7) Phoenix Arizona

Now what, pray tell, does a garage cleaning event have to do with all those things?

It's pretty simple. It is a direct assault on Scott Stone in a jealous reaction to his success and hard work at reasonable pricing.

It must be pretty tough to be so small in that big Dodge compensator that the only way you feel successful is to try to bring regulators in from a targeted area where another contractor has become successful.

In all the industries I have worked in, I've never come across such backhanded activities designed to to nothing but hurt others.

For those of you who do not know, Scott has weathered an assault on his contract coming from the outside recently and came out fully compliant. This leaves no doubt as to where the assault has come from.

Jim has been tagging things like that for a long time. I am pretty sure you'll find some post like that on TGS when it comes back up...people don't understand that when you operate your business with integrity, high moral values, and have nothing to hide, like Scott Stone does, it's pretty hard, perhaps darn near impossible, to wage a successful assault on that persons business.

Of course w Scott, it all starts w his personal life and flows into his business.

Rob Huffman is now attacking Scott?

Rob is mad because I pointed out that there was nothing to fear about texts being posted if everyone was being truthful. I have pretty broad shoulders, and he called me every name in the book.

Interestingly, I think that EVERY single contractor that has come to see me at my shop has gotten the grand tour. There have not been many, but I have not hid anything either, even on a Saturday when I normally don't work, Craig came, and got the tour. I think that everyone agreed that it looked like I was a professional, but then, no one from Texas, Jersey or New York has the guts to keep from being a keyboard commando and to come visit.

I do suspect, however, that there probably have been a couple of google map searches, and maybe a drive by or two, just to see if it was for real.

Yeah they didn't come to the Jersey Round table either

Same here. I don't have anything to prove to anyone. I take guys out on the roofs with us as many can attest.

I think Jim has some kind of envy of your business, my training class he attended for free and Ron's freedom and promotional abilities .

He has always been jealous of your business because you clean more garages in a year than he does in 5. And garages aren't even your primary.

His event was supposed to be a copy of mine. Classroom, vendor tour, and a full day cleaning. Even the price was about the same. The only difference was mine was put on to help contractors and his was to boost his ego. Another difference is when we didn't finish the entire roof in the class we went back the next day and finished the job, even though it was a demo we didn't charge for

I will give him credit for copying Ron well on his promotion. But he forgot that promotion is only a small part of putting on an event. Execution is much more difficult as he found out.

Scott, thanks again for the tour. Scott's warehouse, storage, onsite office, demo area and 18 brand-new looking, dialed in, fully equipped trucks with video cameras and water recovery equipment were nothing short of AWESOME. I could have pitched a tent right there (pun intended) and stayed for the night. Scott even showed me his own riding, self contained pressure washing rig that he had built. His warehouse alone could probably fit 100-150 people comfortably if he was to host an event in Mesa. Scott's got nothing but respect from me and I am very happy to see someone so successful!
